A bike fest with a whole lot of fun in the sun

    Motoverse Experience
It’s that time of the year when motorcyclists around the country start heading to Goa. The bike fest season kicked off with the Royal Enfield Motoverse 2025, held from November 21 to 23. When we were invited to attend this festival, I eagerly volunteered to ride down. And so I did, on a Royal Enfield Classic 350.

While there are many routes that lead Goa from Pune, I chose the most scenic one - via Anuskura Ghat. The ride began early in the morning, and all was fun until my helmet intercom conked off. But that only kept me from talking with my colleagues during the ride. But that meant I was off the chatter and could enjoy the dug dug of the Classic the rest of the way. While most of the roads to Goa are smooth, there are some rough patches. Though nothing that the Classic couldn’t handle. After a lot of photos and food stops, we reached Vagator in the evening – while some rode to Goa fast, I had a chill, soul-soothing ride.

The next day, we reached Motoverse grounds and it felt exhilarating. I instantly knew the next 3 days were going to be memorable. Thousands of riders from every corner of the country, and from the world, were rolling in on their motorcycles. Some were chanting their club slogans, some had wild and wonderfully modified machines; some were even dressed in goofy costumes. It was pure madness in the best way. And Royal Enfield had planned even more. Everywhere you looked, something was happening: racers blasting through the dirt and flat tracks, stunt performers electrifying the crowd with their shows and the ‘maut ka kuan’, music and art sessions, fun games, and everyone was having the time of their lives. But two things grabbed my attention the most: Motopolo and the custom Guerrilla 450 display.

Motopolo is a fairly new sport, and the rules are simple: score a goal without getting off your bike. Easy, right? Four players from each team battled it out, and eight riders were falling, skidding, and full-throttle chasing the ball on their Hunter 350s. Chaotic, hilarious, and insanely exciting to watch.

On the other side were ten custom-built Guerrillas from ten different Indian custom houses and their creativity was unreal. Highlights included hubless wheels, a snake-like exhaust bend pipe, a mind-boggling single-sided swingarm, and even a supermoto-styled Guerrilla 450.

While I was having all the fun I could, the all new bike launches and unveils kept reminding me that this was a workation in Goa – not that I am complaining. But after 3 days and  walking nearly 50,000 steps, it was finally time to wrap up and head back home. Honestly, the 3 days went by like that, and I cannot wait to be part of it again next year.
