  • The 2019 Gixxer will sport an all-new design language.
  • The motorcycle was spotted in a new blue/black dual-tone paint job.
  • It will feature an all-LED headlamp and a fully digital instrument cluster.
  • We expect it to command a premium of Rs 10,000 over the current model.

A few weeks back, a brochure of the 2019 Gixxer was leaked online, giving us a fair idea of how the upcoming motorcycle will look. Now though, the entry-level naked motorcycle has been spied sporting a new blue/black paint job.

The 2019 Gixxer will sport an all-new design language which is inspired by the new Gixxer SF Additionally, the fuel tank seems to be more chiselled compared to the outgoing model. One of the major changes between the previous-gen Gixxer and the new model is the LED headlamp setup. It is also expected to carry forward the same digital instrument cluster as seen on its fully faired cousin.

Powering the upcoming entry-level naked motorcycle will be the same 154.9cc single-cylinder as the Gixxer SF’s. The motor develops 14.1PS at 8000rpm and 14Nm at 6000rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. However, as new emission norms are all set to kick in, the 2019 iteration will get fuel injection, which would make it BS6-ready. We have done a detailed story on the upcoming Gixxer, which you can read here

Currently, Suzuki hasn’t revealed the official launch date, but we expect the new Gixxer to make its India debut soon. As of now, there’s no word on the price yet, but we expect it to command a premium of Rs 10,000 over the current model, which is priced at Rs 88,941 (ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price, it will go up against the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Yamaha FZ FI Version 3.0 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
