2027 KTM 790 Duke

The KTM 790 Duke is a middleweight naked streetfighter bike. The updated version has been spotted testing overseas, showcasing a sharper design inspired by KTM’s larger models like the 1390 Super Duke R and the 990 Duke. The bike is expected to be globally unveiled at EICMA 2026.

KTM 790 Duke Price

The updated KTM 790 Duke has not been officially launched yet. It could debut at EICMA 2026 this year in November. If reintroduced in India, it is expected to be priced at around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it below the KTM 890 Duke R.

KTM 790 Duke Design

The updated KTM 790 Duke has a more aggressive and muscular design than before. Spy shots indicate that the styling will be similar to the KTM 1390 Super Duke R, especially in the headlight design. The fuel tank has been reshaped, while the tank shrouds and side panels are completely new, giving the motorcycle a sharper and more imposing stance. The exhaust has also been redesigned and now features a larger muffler, likely to meet stricter emission norms. 

KTM 790 Duke Engine

The KTM Duke 790 is expected to have an updated version of the existing 799cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin LC8c engine. Depending on the market, the current version produces between 95PS to 105PS, and 87Nm. It will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, likely to retain a slip-and-assist clutch along with a bidirectional quickshifter. 

KTM 790 Duke Chassis, Brakes, Wheels, Suspension

The spied KTM bike appears to retain its steel trellis frame, swingarm, and alloy wheels. However, spy shots suggest a revised rear subframe. One notable update is the presence of WP-branded brake calipers, marking a shift toward KTM’s in-house WP components not just for suspension but also braking. The suspension setup is expected to see small revisions while continuing with WP components. The bike is likely to maintain a seat height of around 825mm (with a lower seat option possible), ground clearance of 185mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres.

KTM 790 Duke Features

The updated KTM 790 Duke is expected to get a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, music controls, and a USB-C charging port. Rider aids will likely include switchable ABS and traction control, lean-sensitive ABS and traction control, engine brake control, and multiple ride modes: Street, Sport, Rain, Performance, Track.

KTM 790 Duke Competition

Globally, the KTM 790 Duke competes with other middleweight naked bikes like the Triumph Street Triple 765 R, Yamaha MT-07, Kawasaki Z900, and Honda CB750 Hornet. If launched in India, it would serve as a step-up option from the KTM 390 Duke while sitting below the more expensive 890 Duke R.
