    Expert Review

    BikeDekho Experts
. Although the CB200X looks quite good and has that ‘big bike’ feel, the lack of features and the low quality of plastics used at this price point makes it difficult to recommend. It misses out on a bunch of bits needed to keep up with its competitors and the only reason why one would get it is if you like the looks and don’t mind paying a premium for it.

    Overview

    Honda CB200X Expert Review
The Honda CB200X is a ADV style motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer. But Honda calls it an ‘Urban Explorer’. After riding the bike through town, and putting it through its paces in the pouring rain, here’s what we have found out about its real world performance.

    Design

    Honda CB200X Design

The CB200X looks like a higher capacity ADV bike thanks to its half fairings. But the bike still has a few design elements borrowed from the Hornet 2.0 such as the LED headlight. Honda has done a good job with the turn indicators integrated into the knuckle guards and they look quite good, but are likely to break in case of a crash. The smoked finish on the windscreen goes well with the overall colour of the bike.

    Features

    Honda CB200X features

The CB200X comes with the same negative LCD as the Hornet 2.0 and gives readouts like speed, tachometer readings, gear position, clock, trip meters and odometer. The display has 5 levels of brightness which is quite convenient and makes it easy to read the console under different lighting conditions. While the console does have a side stand indicator, an engine cut-off sensor should ideally have been offered as well.

The switch gear is easy to reach but overall feels quite cheap and the hazard lights give little to no feedback. The bike only gets single-channel ABS and at this price point, this is quite disappointing. We expected dual-channel ABS to be standard.

    Riding Posture & Comfort

The Honda CB200X provides riders with an upright and relaxed riding position thanks to the wide and forward-set handlebar and mid-set footpegs. The seat is quite spacious and can accommodate both the rider and pillion without any trouble and also gives enough space for both to move around. The seat height is a bit towards the taller side coming to 810mm, but the narrow profile of the seat in the front makes it easy for even shorter riders to get both feet down.

The only issue with the seat is that it is a bit towards the firmer side and wouldn’t be comfortable when going on long trips.

    Engine, Mileage & Performance

    Honda CB200X Engine

The 184.4cc air-cooled engine is very peppy and revs happily. There’s enough grunt at low revs so that you don’t need to work the gearbox continuously during city commutes. It will happily zip along at low speeds in high gears.

Overall, the engine is quite tractable and has a healthy mid-range, so overtaking in traffic won’t require too much effort on the rider’s part. It feels comfortable cruising at speeds of up to 90kmph, post which some vibes creep in from the handlebar and the fuel tank.

    Handling & Ride Quality

Honda CB200X Handling and ride quality

The CB200X weighs in at 147kg, about 5kg more than the Hornet 2.0, but still manages to feel quite light on its feet. You don’t even feel the weight when taking U-turns. Its agility is a real boon in city traffic, and we really enjoyed our time in the urban jungle.

The monoshock is quite firm, which is evident when riding on bad roads. While most regular bumps and undulations are handled without too much fuss, the sharp ones end up transferring to the rider and may even toss them off the seat. Even though the ground clearance isn’t particularly high, the belly pan didn’t scrape even once on bad patches or speed breakers.  Braking on the CB200X is commendable with adequate bite and lever feedback with minimal ABS intrusion under hard braking. However, since it only gets single-channel ABS, the rear wheel may lock up when you push really hard.

    Should you buy Honda CB200X

    Honda CB200X Expert Review
The CB200X isn’t a true ADV but it makes for a brilliant daily rider within the city that can also handle the occasional weekend trips with ease. But the main issue is the bike is much more expensive and overall feels like a Hornet 2.0 but with new fairings and a slightly altered handlebar. The Hero XPulse 200 4V which is the main rival of the CB200X does a much better job as a dual-sport/ADV motorcycle. The only reason why you should get the Honda CB200X is if you like its looks and don’t mind paying the premium for it.

    Pros & Cons

    Good Things

    • The windshield, half fairings and golden forks at front gives the bike a really muscular look
    • It feels light and nimble making it a delight around town
    • Comfortable and relaxed riding position thanks to the wide handlebar and mid-set footpegs

    Could Be Better

    • No extra features despite the significant premium you’ll pay over the Hornet 2.0.
    • Rear suspension feels quite firm over sharp bumps
    • The plastic quality feels a little low quality and the switchgear finish levels are not up to the mark

It is best for his sporty look and also a low maintenance bike along with the bike engine it is superb and also gets the good average in city and good for a long tour because of his handle bar which makes the posture proper The ride so far is good for touring especially to cover 200km for you do not feel tired due to the posture sitting and also has the proper grip only disappointment is of Suspension they are hard and feels every time while bumps. Yes already I recommended my friends and one of my friend has bought this bike even my friends exchange there bikes with me for touring as they love to ride this bike for long rides. So overall its a good review from my friends and colleagues.

Overview of the bike, how does it feel
Everything is good but the feel in hand does not give an excellent vibe wile driving. The bike is good for a tour but if you are looking for an off road bike please dont consider this option it could do a little bit off roading but not heavy. Engine is good produces less sound auto start is good. Pickup is also good

      Good but Underrated Bike
It's a very powerful bike and has a good mileage and it has less maintainance cost and very good reliability as it's a Honda but sometimes light throw is bit weak. It's riding posture is good for long ride and seat is comfortable but for the pillion their is not much space and the engine don't vibrate at highers rpm.

      Best budget segment bike
Best budget segment bike with superb mileage and best in class comfort just need to add extra accessories once added no one will believe it's a 200cc bike. The only drawback of this bike is the entire body is of fibre material which I never expected from honda and low ground clearance and low headlight throw and talking about pros refined engine, extreme good mileage and comfortable and low maintenance.

    Honda CB200X Latest Updates

Honda has launched the 2025 NX200 ADV in India at Rs 1,68,499 (ex-showroom, Delhi), replacing the CB200X. It gets an adventure bike-like design, and new features including a TFT console, smartphone connectivity, all LED lighting and dual-channel ABS. The bike is powered by an updated OBD-2B compliant 184. 4cc engine. The NX200 will only be sold at Honda Red Wing and BigWing dealerships

    Honda CB200X Price:

The Honda CB200X is available in a sole standard variant priced at Rs 1,46,999, ex-showroom, Delhi. The bike comes in three body paint options: Decent Blue Metallic, Sports Red and Pearl Nightstar Black.

    Honda CB200X Engine:

    The Honda CB200X is powered by a BS6. 2-compliant 184. 4cc, fuel-injected engine. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox and produces 17. 26 PS @ 8,500 rpm and 15. 9 Nm @ 6,000 rpm.

    Honda CB200X Suspension & Brakes:

The Honda CB200X gets a diamond-type frame with an inverted fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The braking system comprises a 276 mm disc at the front with ABS and a 220 mm disc at the rear. The CB200X comes with a dual-purpose 110/70-17 tubeless tyre at the front and 140/70-17 at the rear.

Being an adventure tourer, the Honda CB 200X has a ground clearance of 167 mm and a seat height of 810 mm. The CB 200X gets a healthy 12-litre fuel tank and has a kerb weight of 147 kg.

    Honda CB200X Features:

The Honda CB200X boasts several useful features such as a fully digital dashboard offering all essential information such as speed, distance travelled, engine rpm, distance to empty, battery voltage, clock, etc. The bike further gets all-LED lighting, knuckle guards with integrated LED turn indicators, an LED taillamp, split-seat setup, an engine killswitch, and hazard switch.

The Honda CB 200X also features an assist and slipper clutch for a light clutch action and preventing the rear wheel from locking during aggressive engine braking, as well as single-channel ABS for enhanced braking prowess.

    Honda CB200X Rivals:

The Honda CB 200X is an entry-level road-biased adventure tourer that challenges the likes of the Hero XPulse 200T 4V. One can also look for off-road-friendly alternatives in the form of Hero XPulse 200 4V or street bikes with lower displacement like the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. One could also look out for motorcycles with higher displacement like the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 in a similar price range.
