Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel

The Splendor Plus Flex Fuel is Hero MotoCorp’s latest commuter motorcycle designed to run on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E5 to E85 (E85 means 85% ethanol, 15% petrol combination). Launched as part of Hero’s new Flex Fuel lineup, the motorcycle aims to support the government’s push towards higher ethanol adoption while offering customers a more sustainable mobility option. The Flex Fuel range will be introduced in Delhi and select regions of Maharashtra in July 2026, before being rolled out across the country. The Splendor Plus Flex Fuel is priced at Rs 82,710 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Splendor Plus Flex Fuel retains the familiar commuter-friendly design of the standard Splendor while receiving subtle updates to distinguish it from the regular model. The bike features new Black with Lime Yellow graphics, giving it a fresher appearance. The overall silhouette remains unchanged, with a simple fuel tank design, flat seat and practical ergonomics aimed at daily commuting.

Feature-wise, the Splendor Plus Flex Fuel gets a few useful additions over the standard model. It comes equipped with Hero’s i3S idle-stop-start technology, a new instrument console with a digital inset showing the fuel level, side-stand engine cut-off and a USB charging port. The motorcycle continues with halogen lighting. To support Flex Fuel compatibility, Hero has also equipped the bike with a revised ECU and upgraded fuel system components.

Rider Comfort

The Splendor Plus Flex Fuel should offer a comfortable riding experience thanks to its upright ergonomics with an easy-to-reach handlebar, neutral footpegs, and an accessible 785mm seat height. 

Pillion Comfort

Pillion comfort should also be decent as the motorcycle gets a long single-piece seat with enough room for two occupants. The well-padded seat should make everyday commuting comfortable, though highway touring is not its primary focus.

The Splendor Plus Flex Fuel is powered by a 97.2cc air-cooled, single-cylinder OHC engine producing 8.56PS at 8,000rpm and 8.3Nm at 6,000rpm when running on E85 fuel. The engine is paired with a 4-speed gearbox. It is compatible with ethanol blends ranging from E5 to E85.

City And Highway Performance

The engine should provide smooth and adequate for city commuting. The enhanced output with E85 fuel should help improve rideability, while the lightweight nature of the motorcycle should make it easy to manoeuvre through traffic. Highway performance should be good enough only for short stretches as the motorcycle is primarily intended for urban and suburban use.

Brakes

While the Hero bike does not have any braking updates, the motorcycle should offer adequate stopping performance for daily commuting duties. The addition of the side-stand engine cut-off enhances overall safety. That said, Hero should've provided the option of a front disc brake.

Handling

The Splendor Plus Flex Fuel uses a tubular double cradle frame and has a wheelbase of 1,236mm. Combined with its lightweight construction (113kg kerb) and narrow tube-type tyres, the motorcycle should feel agile and easy to handle in city conditions.

Ride Quality

Suspension duties are handled by telescopic fork and 5-step preload adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. This setup should provide a comfortable ride over broken roads and speed breakers commonly encountered during daily commutes.

The Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel competes with other 100cc commuter motorcycles such as the Hero HF Deluxe, Honda Shine 100 and Bajaj Platina 100. However, its ability to run on ethanol blends up to E85 gives it a unique advantage over conventional petrol-powered alternatives.
