Overview

On June 3, 2026 Hero MotoCorp launched the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel in India. It is designed to operate on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85, the motorcycle aims to offer a greener and more sustainable commuting solution without compromising on the practicality that the HF Deluxe is known for.
Design

The HF Deluxe Flex Fuel retains the simple and functional styling of the standard HF Deluxe while receiving subtle cosmetic revisions to differentiate it from the regular model. The new white, lime yellow and blue graphics, along with Flex Fuel-specific branding gives the motorcycle a fresher appearance. While the overall design remains focused on practicality, with a straightforward fuel tank design, comfortable single-piece seat and commuter-friendly proportions that make it suitable for everyday use.
Features

In terms of equipment, the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel continues to focus on essentials while incorporating a few useful modern features. The motorcycle comes equipped with Hero’s i3S idle-stop-start technology, side-stand engine cut-off and a revised instrument cluster with a small digital display that shows only the fuel level. It also continues with halogen lighting. To ensure compatibility with ethanol-blended fuels, Hero has updated the motorcycle with a revised ECU, new fuel pump and upgraded fuel system components designed to handle high ethanol fuel blends, as mentioned earlier.
Riding Posture & Comfort
Rider Comfort
The HF Deluxe Flex Fuel should offer a comfortable riding experience thanks to its upright ergonomics, and lightweight construction. Even though the seat height is 805mm, it has a narrow profile, allowing riders of different heights to easily get on or off the bike.
Pillion Comfort
Pillion comfort should remain one of the motorcycle’s strengths, thanks to its long and well-cushioned single-piece seat. The neutral seating position and commuter-focused ergonomics should make short and medium-distance rides comfortable for the pillion.
Engine, Mileage & Performance

The HF Deluxe Flex Fuel is powered by a 97.2cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The motor is capable of running on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85 (up to 85% ethanol, 15% petrol), thanks to updates made to the fuel delivery and engine management systems. The engine is also also claimed to make 7% more power and 3% more torque, at 8.56PS and 8.30Nm. Overall, it should continue to deliver smooth and predictable performance suited to everyday commuting requirements.
City And Highway Performance
The HF Deluxe Flex Fuel is expected to feel most at home in urban and suburban environments where its light weight and easy-going engine character can be fully utilised. Performance should be adequate for everyday commuting, with enough power for city traffic and occasional highway runs. However, like most motorcycles in this segment, its primary focus remains fuel-efficient and affordable mode of transportation rather than outright performance.
Handling & Ride Quality
Brakes
The bike comes with drum brakes at both ends, which should provide just about adequate stopping performance for the motorcycle’s intended use. The inclusion of a side-stand engine cut-off system adds an extra layer of safety for everyday riding.
Handling
Built around a tubular double cradle frame, the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel should continue to offer predictable handling characteristics. Its lightweight construction and compact dimensions should make it easy to manoeuvre through traffic and tight urban environment.
Ride Quality
The bike comes with a conventional telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers. This setup should offer a comfortable ride over typical city roads, potholes and speed breakers, while maintaining the plush ride quality that commuter motorcycle buyers generally look for.
Rivals To Consider

The Hero HF Deluxe Flex Fuel competes with other entry-level commuter motorcycles such as the Honda Shine 100, Bajaj Platina 100 and Hero Splendor Plus. However, its ability to operate on ethanol blends up to E85 gives it a unique proposition in the segment, offering buyers a more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional petrol-powered motorcycles.
