1. Passage du Gois
This road is located between Île de Noirmoutier to Beauvoir-sur-Mer in France and leads to the island of Noirmoutier. The road was once used in a season of Tour de France (bicycle race) and came in the limelight since then. Passage du Gois is also famous for a strange fact that this road gets covered in water twice a day. As this road is constructed on the sea, the water level gets high because of the tides and it make the path unseen two times in a day.
2. Patiopoulo-Perdikaki Road
Located on a mountain, the road is 23.5 km long and has a lot of potholes with very less grip for the vehicles. Patiopoulo-Perdikaki has a steep design and has not prevention that can stop vehicles from getting into 100’s of feet down during accidents. It is elevated at 700 meters above sea level and starts from Perdikaki village to Patiopoulo. The start of the elevation is from 700 meters which go high with every next turn and reaches 1160 meter up top. A lot of accidents are reported on this road as it has no sign boards that show edge point to drivers. Night traveling is the most dangerous time of the day to travel on this road.
3. Luxor-al-Hurghada Road
Linking two beautiful cities of Egypt, Luxor and Hurghada, the Luxor-al-Hurghada Road is a hub of scuba diving resorts. The road is not dangerous for riding or driving but rampant terrorist activities make this path a dangerous death trap. This road is always in the news for terrorist activities that leads to the collision of vehicles. Riding in the night is the worst decision one can take as some bandits attack tourist vehicles. Due to this, people drive keeping their headlights off and that leads to a face to face accident. Many casualties have been reported in the past and are still covered by local dailies.
4. Taroko Gorge Road
The road passes through the Taroko National Park in Taiwan and has become a famous tourist destination. If you want to test your riding skills and how to find ways where only one bus can pass at a time, this is the place for you. Offering a beautiful view of the park alongside, the Taroko Gorge road is said to face many accidents due to frequent landslides and roadblocks. Also. this road has got popularity because of the artistically done engineering.
5. Skippers Canyon
Located in New Zealand, the road was built 140 years ago and it seems that the people of that time didn't bother about luxury. This road is pretty much graveled and has no guard rails and safety measures. One interesting fact about this road is that if two vehicles are coming face to face then one might have to take a reverse of few kilometers to clear the way. The road also has a river flowing few hundred feets down the valley. It is a pure treat for photographers and adventure lovers.
6. Halsema Highway
Situated in Northern Luzon, it is the National Highway of Philippines and is located 7,400 ft. above sea level. Also, this highway is the highest altitude road in the Philippines. Having a spiral shape, the road is less risky in summers, but the rest of the year heavy rainfalls and fog leads to worst accidents. The road gets damaged and half of it falls from the mountain resulting in blocking the traffic.
7. Eyre Highway
This one is the most awesome roads to ride on as the road is long and stretched. The 1675 long straight highway is in Australia and it does not look dangerous in the picture, but don’t get fooled, the road goes through the most remote parts of Australia. The road is so featureless that while riding or driving, people don’t stay awake and collide in Kangaroos passing by. Also, the road is the second home for criminals, so being aware of the fact is the only thing that can let you cross this route safely.
