This year at Harley Rock Riders, independent Indian bike builders will go full throttle to make a personal statement through customization of Harley-Davidson motorcycles through the Custom Champions contest. Five talented customizers will come together from different parts of the country to showcase their creativity and talent on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The winner gets an all-expense paid trip to the mecca of motorcycling, the Harley-Davidson museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

We interviewed the five participants to get an insight into the custom motorcycles they plan to showcase.

Godspeed Customs

Q1. Who is Godspeed customs?

A. Godspeed is me Nikesh and my partner Neel Urumeese. We started in 2014 and we won at India Bike Week in 2014. We have only customised Harley Davidsons and we are based in Kochi.

Q2. Which Harley Davidson Motorcycle are you going to use for customisation?

A. We are going to use the sportster Super Low.

Q3. Can you tell us one customisation that you plan to do? And if you have a theme in mind?

A. I’m a big fan of Indian Larry and I wanted to follow his footsteps. We wanted to make a springer bobber theme motorcycle. We’ve got the front springer suspension from the US and didn’t want to compromise on the quality. We’ve tried to keep an old school look with a sissy bar at the rear and a wide handlebar up front.

Q4. Do you think you’ll win the competition? What is going to make your build better than the rest?

A. We’ve given our heart and soul into this bike and we’re hoping we’ll win. We’ve got the right mixture of style and performance that should help us win.

TNT Motorcycles

Q1. Who is TNT motorcycles?

A. It’s Tools and Tattoos. We are a small garage with a young setup. We just started last year and me and my partner Nitin wanted to make a custom motorcycle and decided to start our own customisation shop.

Q2. Which Harley Davidson Motorcycle are you going to use for customisation?

A. We are using a Street Bob and its named Urja.

Q3. Can you tell us one customisation that you plan to do? And if you have a theme in mind?

A. For this we’ve changed the front and rear fenders and we’ve changed the headlight, front tyre and put a custom handlebar. We even put a gel saddle seat. It carries a whole rivet theme.

Q4. Do you think you’ll win the competition? What is going to make your build better than the rest?

A. Yes of course. The finishing and the detailing is what’s going to set this motorcycle apart.
