The BGauss B8 electric scooter and BGauss A2 were launched in July 2020. The B8 is offered in three variants: lead acid, lithium ion, and LI technology. BGauss is the sub-brand of RR Global, a Mumbai-based conglomerate in the electrical industry. It unveiled its electric scooter range in early July 2020.
BGauss B8 Price:
The price of the BGauss B8 starts from Rs 62,999 for the base lead-acid variant. The mid-spec lithium-ion battery variant will set you back by Rs 82,999 and the LI technology costs Rs 88,999, all ex-showroom. The LI technology is the top-end variant with a number of smart features. More about it in the paragraphs below.
BGauss B8 Features:
The BGauss B8 LI technology variant is loaded with tech-savvy bits like IoT-enabled (Internet Of Things) navigation assist, ride metrics, remote diagnostics, battery’s state of health and its charging state, live tracking, geo-fencing and full charge alert. Other noteworthy features in the base lead-acid and mid-spec lithium-Ion battery variant include anti-theft alarm, anti-theft motor locking, centralised seat lock, USB charging, reverse assist and side-stand sensor. The scooters also feature three riding modes: low, mid and high.
BGauss B8 Motor:
The BGauss B8 and all of its variants are powered by a 1900W BrushLess DC (BLDC) hub motor. It is connected to a 60V fixed lead-acid battery in the base variant. The mid-spec and top-end versions get a 57. 6V removable lithium-ion battery pack. In any case, the top speed is limited to 50kmph across all the variants. The lead-acid battery takes about 5-6 hours for 80 per cent charge and 7-8 hours for a full charge. On the other hand, the lithium-ion battery pack takes two hours to reach 80 per cent and three hours for a complete charge.
BGauss B8 Suspension & Brakes:
The BGauss B8 and its variants use a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. All the variants also get a double piston front disc and a disc at the rear with regenerative braking and CBS as standard. The alloy wheels are wrapped with Ceat Zoom rubber on both ends.
BGauss B8 Rivals:
The BGauss B8 goes up against the Okinawa Praise, Okinawa iPraise, Ampere Magnus Pro, Hero Electric Photon LP and Gemopai Astrid Lite.
