Ather Redux Concept

The Ather Redux is a sporty scooter concept from the EV maker, and it claims to offer a lot of futuristic tech. It is essentially a preview of how modern EVs from Ather will look like.

While Ather hasn’t really confirmed a production version of the Redux, if it were to be launched, then it will likely be priced around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom).

Ather  Redux Design

The Redux has a futuristic design, and looks far from a traditional e-scooter. In fact, it looks like a combination of a motorcycle and a scooter, somewhat like the TVS X. The addition of bits like ‘Redux’ graphic on the sharp body panels gives it a sporty touch. The large wheels along with the slick tyres also add a sense of aggression too.

Ather Redux Motor, Battery And Performance 

Ather has not revealed anything about the e-scooter concept’s battery or performance. But we expect it to come with a motor that is powerful enough to allow the Redux to achieve a triple-digit top speed, and the battery pack should be good enough to at least offer a triple-digit range. 

Ather Redux Features 

Ather claims to offer a completely keyless experience with the Redux, where the rider won’t even have to carry a keyfob to start the scooter. 

Along with this, the Redux could also offer responsive riding dynamics, which will alter the scooter’s ergonomics. This means that the rider can sit upright on the seat like they would in a normal scooter, or scoot back and lean forward for a sporty and committed riding posture. The footpegs and handlebar would adjust automatically. The throttle also features vibration motors for alerts on the throttle itself.

Other than this, there’s also the Morph-UI which will change the scooter’s console interface depending on how the rider sits. Lastly, the scooter also gets a launch control system called “Take Off” for maximum acceleration from standstill.

Ather Redux Chassis, Wheel, Brake And Suspension

The Redux is built on a cast aluminum frame, and the seat is a 3D printed mesh and the body is built using a composite material called Amplitex. These are done to ensure weight reduction.

Judging by the photos, we can see that the Redux gets an inverted fork and a monoshock. The suspension electronically adjusts itself, depending on the rider’s requirements. When the rider leans over for a more sporty and committed riding posture, the suspension lowers itself and alters the scooter’s riding dynamics for better performance. The Redux also gets what appears to be 14-inch alloy wheels, with slick tyres. Braking setup consists of a disc brake at the front.

Ather Project Redux Rivals

The Ather Project Redux is currently in its concept form. Even if Ather makes a production version, it is still a few years away. If it does, then it will go up against the TVS X and the top-end variant of the Ultraviolette Tesseract electric scooter.
