The Jupiter 125 stands out with its reliable performance and easy handling. However, its real strength is the comfortable ride quality and many useful features. With the recent addition of the SmartXonnect variant with the connectivity features and TFT instrument console, its already huge appeal has only just gotten bigger.

    TVS Jupiter 125 - Introduction

Xerox, Photoshop, Google, Activa… I recently learnt that there actually exists a word–”genericide”–for the phenomenon where a brand name becomes so widely used that people start using it to represent its entire category, not just the specific brand.

Imagine, then, the uphill task that the original TVS Jupiter had ahead of it when it was launched to compete with what has become synonymous with scooters for this entire country of 1.2 billion people, the Activa. And imagine, also, just how jubilant its makers must have been when it not only succeeded at this uphill task, but did so with its own dash of panache and style.

On May 25, 2026, TVS introduced some new colour options for the Jupiter 125, and also hiked its price acrross all variants.

    TVS Jupiter 125 Review Overview

So when the time came for the Jupiter to move a rung up in the ladder, it’s no surprise that its makers went all out, crafting a scooter that was more than a couple of nips and tucks here and there. The end result, the TVS Jupiter 125, is an all-new scooter in every sense of the word.

    So… Can lightning strike twice?

    3.5
    Design & Quality

    Design

That “all-new” mantra starts right from the design: the Jupiter 125 boasts an entirely different style language from the 110cc one. Nonetheless, TVS has opted for a design language that feels safe and familiar. There’s nothing polarising about it, and I mean that in a good way. This is a scooter that doesn’t try too hard to grab your attention, but still manages to look quite well put together.

The LED headlamp mounted on the handlebar, paired with a sliver of chrome on the apron, lends just the right amount of flair to an otherwise traditional silhouette. From the rear, the LED tail-lamp with clear-lens indicators keeps things clean and contemporary without pushing boundaries.

    TVS Jupiter 125 Design

    Colours

TVS is offering the Jupiter 125 in a wide array of colours depending on the variant. Buyers of the base Drum Alloy variants get: Indieblue, Titanium Grey and White, while the Disc variant also gets the Sparkling Black shade. The higher DT SXC variant is available in colour options like: Ivory Matte Copper Bronze, Ivory Elite Green, Ivory Brown and Ivory Grey. The top-spec SmartXonnect variant is avalaible in three shades: Elite Green, Elegant Red, and Matte Copper Bronze.

Of these our pick would have to be the stunning Elegant Red, a shade that more lives up to its name whether the Jupiter 125 is parked or on the move.

    TVS Jupiter 125 Taillight

    Wheels

Even the 12-inch alloy wheel options on the Jupiter 125 differ slightly depending on the variant. The drum brake version employs a two-pronged five-star pattern that is already snazzy enough, but the other three variants above it take the style quotient one step further with a dual-tone five-pronged design.

    Quality

In terms of build quality, TVS has done a solid job. Fit and finish on the body panels is great throughout, and I didn’t encounter any rattles or loose plastics during my test ride. However, this scooter has a netorious reputation of not aging well. The chrome on the headlamp cown fades away quite easily and paint finish looses charm overtim. Also, a few owners did point out that the boot light on their scooter occasionally came loose, and the plastics around the headlamp didn’t sit flush. I didn’t face these issues myself, but it’s something to keep an eye on, especially as the scooter ages.

The grab rail, body-coloured and nicely contoured, adds a touch of sophistication. On the top variant, the addition of a soft backrest for the pillion is a thoughtful detail that makes a difference over longer rides.

    4.0
    Features & Practicality

    Safety Features

The Jupiter 125 comes with a parking brake, a practical feature that meant I didn’t have to look for flat surfaces while parking on slopes. Just lock it and walk away. It’s small touches like this that quietly improve day-to-day usability.

    Convenience Features

Let’s be honest, the Jupiter 125 isn’t trying to outdo the NTorq when it comes to features. And yet, what it does offer is what actually matters for daily commutes.

You get a semi-digital instrument cluster with essential information like fuel efficiency, distance-to-empty, and trip readings. It’s legible, fuss-free, and easy to interact with. The USB charger located on the apron came in handy more than once during my longer rides where my phone was constantly in use for navigation. The top model brings with it TVS SmartXConnect, offering voice assist, phone alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.

TVS Juptier 125 Speedometer and Console

One standout feature is the stop-start system. In theory, it should reduce fuel consumption at signals. In practice, it works, most of the time: I noticed that it only reactivates the engine when you engage the throttle and pull a brake lever. There’s a slight delay before the engine cranks back to life, which caught me off guard the first few times. It’s not a dealbreaker, but definitely something you need to get used to.

    TVS Juptier 125 Start Switch

TVS Jupiter 125 Storage And Practicality

    Underseat Storage

If there’s one area where the Jupiter 125 just walks all over its competition, it’s storage. The 33-litre underseat boot is massive. I was able to fit a full-face helmet and still had space for a small grocery bag. It’s so cavernous because the fuel tank has been moved to the floorboard, and that design decision pays off in a big way.

    TVS Juptier 125 Storage Space

    Floorboard Space

The flat floorboard is equally generous. TVS claims that it is large enough to accommodate a full-size LPG cylinder and while we certainly weren't going to test out that claim, we have no reason to doubt it. During longer rides, I could stretch my legs slightly forward, something that genuinely adds comfort over time. However, taller riders should note, when taking tight U-turns or going full lock in parking scenarios, the handlebar can bump into your knees.

    TVS Juptier 125 Floorboard

    Hooks and Other Storage Options

There’s a 2-litre cubbyhole on the front apron, great for sunglasses, a phone, or even a small water bottle, even though it is exposed to the elements. But the real cherry on top is the external fuel filler placed on the back of the apron. I never had to dismount during fuel stops, which was truly a blessing, though the long filler neck caused some fuel bubbling during top-ups. It takes a bit of patience to brim the tank without spills.

    4.0
    Rider & Pillion Comfort

    Rider Comfort

The Jupiter 125’s single piece seat is wide, soft, and has just the right amount of firmness to stay comfortable during long stints. At 765mm, its height is fairly low, which made it easy for my 1.71m frame to place both feet down at stops, although the seat’s width might make that slightly harder for shorter riders.

Ergonomically, the upright seating position and the relaxed handlebar placement work well. I never felt any wrist or shoulder strain, even after over an hour of continuous riding.

    Pillion Comfort

40mm might not sound like much in other contexts, but that’s the amount of pillion room the 125 offers over the 110 Jupiter, and it makes a world of difference. The top-variant backrest added a real sense of security and the suspension also does a good job of absorbing undulations.

TVS Juptier 125 Seat and Comfort

    4.0
    Engine & Performance

    Engine

Instead of simply repurposing the NTorq 125’s engine, TVS has opted to produce an all-new 124.8cc engine for the Jupiter 125. It is a basic, 2-valve air-cooled unit, producing 8.15PS and 10.5Nm, numbers that are very much in line with others in this space.

    TVS Juptier 125 Engine

    City Performance

Most of my riding was in heavy city traffic, and here, the Jupiter feels in its element. Peak torque comes in early, and the CVT is tuned to get you moving quickly from a standstill. It’s zippy without being jerky, and overtaking slow-moving traffic is never an issue, with the scooter doing the 0-40kmph acceleration run in a respectable 3.79 seconds and attaining 60kmph in 8.21 seconds.

I especially appreciated how smooth and refined the engine feels up to about 60kmph. There’s barely any vibration, and throttle inputs are met with predictable, linear acceleration.

    TVS Juptier 125 Highway Performance

    Highway Performance

Beyond 70kmph, performance does start to taper off. Getting to its VBox-indicated top speed of 95kmph takes a while, and overtakes near this speed require some planning. I wouldn’t call it a highway machine, but for occasional stretches of open road, it gets the job done.

    TVS Juptier 125 City Performance

    Gearbox

The CVT transmission is smooth and fuss-free, as long as you’re gentle with the throttle. On steeper flyovers or under aggressive inputs, it can get a bit noisy, but nothing out of the ordinary for a scooter in this class.

TVS Juptier 125 Engine and Performacne

    Mileage/Range

In the city, I managed to see 57.27kmpl with my 68kg frame on board, which honestly surprised me given the acceleration-biased tuning. Out on the highway, that figure dropped to around 52.91kmpl. Still respectable, but not quite class-leading. The 5-litre tank (down by 1 litre from the Jupiter 110) returns decent range, but we wish it’d been a tad more capacious.

    4.0
    Ride Quality & Handling

    Underpinnings

The scooter’s chassis and suspension setup come together nicely to offer a well-balanced ride. Weighing a class-average 108kg, it never feels heavy thanks to the even weight distribution and low centre of gravity.

    TVS Juptier 125 Handling

    Brakes

The Jupiter 125 gets CBS–the now-mandatory Combined Braking System–on all its variants and, considering its performance, I never found myself wishing for the larger safety net of ABS. I rode the disc brake variant, and I found modulation to be very natural. When applying just the rear brake, there’s noticeable engagement at the front as well, helping the scooter come to a halt in a more balanced and composed manner. This is especially useful for less experienced riders or for emergency braking on loose or wet surfaces.

    TVS Juptier 125 Wheels

    City Handling

In tight spaces and slow-speed maneuvers, the Jupiter feels light and nimble. Filtering through traffic is effortless, and parking in cramped lots never was a chore.

    TVS Juptier 125 Suspension

    Highway Handling

On its default setting, I found the rear suspension of the Jupiter 125 to be a bit too soft, but then that could also be my 68kg weight talking. Firming up the preload, which can be done by hand with no tools, made the two ends work much better in sync, and lends the scooter a measured poise on long highway jaunts.

    TVS Juptier 125 Brakes

    Cornering

While this isn’t a scooter designed for spirited corner carving, the Jupiter 125 holds its line reasonably well during fast direction changes.

    TVS Juptier 125 Braking Performance

    TVS Jupiter 125 Ride Quality

    Underpinnings

The Jupiter 125 gets telescopic forks up front and gas-charged shocks at the rear, the latter with 3-step preload adjustment. That level of adjustability is rare in this class, and it definitely helps tailor the ride for different loads.

    TVS Juptier 125 Riding Posture

    Ride Quality

The ride is tuned for comfort, no doubt about it. Small imperfections simply vanish, and even larger potholes are rounded off with surprising grace. I never felt like the scooter was pogoing after a bump, nor did it bottom out with a loud thud. It just stays composed, even on rough city roads.

    Verdict

The TVS Jupiter 125 may not scream for attention, but it doesn’t need to. It’s sensible, comfortable, and packed with practical touches that genuinely make a difference in everyday life. Whether it’s the massive storage space, the smooth low-end power, or the plush suspension, the Jupiter feels like it was built around the actual needs of city commuters and office goers.

Is the TVS Jupiter 125 Worth Buying?

It’s neither the quickest, nor is it the most tech-loaded, but it is incredibly well-balanced. And sometimes, that balance is exactly what you want in a daily workhorse. At Rs 83,900, ex-showroom, Delhi, for the disc variant, it does sit at the higher end of the price bracket. But given everything it brings to the table, especially that premium paint, ride quality, and practicality, I’d say it’s more than justified.

TVS Jupiter 125 Fuel Filler Cap Open

    Competitors

The Jupiter 125 goes up against the likes of the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, and Hero Destini 125. All of these follow a similar comfort and utility formula. Where the Jupiter edges ahead is in sheer practicality and ride comfort.

Overall best for family use. Features and performance are great, assist works bit laggy, when compared to final model, kicker is good but display experience varies. I take home 1,16700 on 07/07/2026, Trijal motors Bengaluru. Maintenance must be frequent for breaks. Seating capacity is best it holds two helmets. Good for metro cities.

Comfort, Spacious, Easy if driving, Feature loaded
For comfort, Good looks, storage, Low maintenance, Fuel injection convenience and special features like Engine rest. It is easy to manage. Engine has never disappointed at any time. Self start is also best in class. Over all best 125 cc scooter in the segment. Speed is decent for city ride, mileage is fair enough with east of refueling. Parts availability is also good never faced any problem with that. Engine cut feature is amazing and quick reactive. Overall best in class in terms of ride quality. Yes for sure. Best for anyone who is looking for a city ride. Family friendly with easy to drive even for lady drivers. Scooter is little on a heavier side but that should not be any issue if you are an experienced driver

      TVS Jupiter 125 most reliable.
This scooter is so reliable in terms of looks, mileage, family use and off course it's all colour is fabulous which make this scooter eye catching. All the new features makes it more bulky in terms of connectivity and rider friendly. The ride is very comfortable, few in once the road bumps felt a bit but off course the smoothest ride experience i've ever got as compared to other scooters. The navigation and smart x connect makes it more fuel efficient, rider friendly and futuristic. I surely suggest or recommend this scooter because it's excellent in looks, mileage, family friendly and off course the reliable in its segment. All the new features like adjustable shock absorbers, DT SXC, Disk breaks, colour tone, and fuel tank refill mouth are truly a blessing for any scooter person.

Instant Liking Turned into a Purchase
I saw Jupiter 125 at mall and instantly liked the looks. I was searching for scooter that could be used by both me and my dad. He liked the seat height and I liked the digital display and colors. After a test ride we both agreed to buy it. It rides like a dream. Smooth on turns, light in traffic and gives very good mileage. Dad uses it for morning errands and I use it for college. Once we forgot to check fuel but it still went 10 km more. Very helpful scooter. Yes it is good scooter for all ages. It has smart features and rides well. My father who is 65 rides it with no issues. Safe, reliable and easy to maintain. TVS really made a great family scooter with this model.

Needed Comfort and Got It All
My old scooter was the small and uncomfortable. I wanted scooter with space, comfort and easy fuel access. Jupiter 125 had all three. I saw few YouTube reviews and went to see it. I liked how it looked and how simple it was to ride. It is perfect. The best part is I do not have to open the seat to fill petrol. I carry my helmet, bag and lunchbox under the seat. Once I rode it to a wedding 45 km away and it did not feel hard at all. Smooth on highway and traffic both. I already told two of my friends and they are planning to buy it. It is not just scooter it feels like smart helper. If you want comfort and strong performance this is the one. Super happy with this scooter.

      Smooth Ride and Great Mileage
I bought Jupiter 125 after my friend told me about the mileage and smooth ride. I had smaller scooter before and needed something stronger. This looked stylish and useful for my long daily travel. The test ride convinced me quickly. The experience is great. It does not feel tired or slow. One time I had a pillion and still it climbed a steep road easily. The pickup is good and it never gave me any starting problem. I trust it fully now. Yes 100% recommend it. Best for city rides and even for long ones. Smooth engine, big storage and comfortable seat. I have been using it for months and never faced any issue. TVS has done good job with this one.

Features That Fit My Daily Needs
I chose this bike because of the features. I liked the front fuel tank and large storage space. I often carry groceries and other items. This scooter made my life easier. TVS has good name and I have used their bikes before so I trusted them. So far the ride is excellent. Very comfortable on bumpy roads. The tyres have good grip. I once rode during heavy rain and did not feel any slip. It handles turns well and the brakes are strong. The engine is quiet and smooth. Yes I already suggested it to my neighbours. If you want a solid scooter with extra features go for this one. It is good buy. Worth the money. Even after riding daily it feels new. Great scooter from TVS.

Perfect Birthday Gift for My Wife
I was looking for scooter for my wife. She wanted something easy to ride and not too tall. TVS Jupiter 125 was perfect match. The seat height is good and it is light to handle. The design also looks very smart. It felt safe so I bought it for her birthday. She loves riding it every day. It starts quickly and rides smooth. Once we went together to the market and had many bags. Still it pulled well and did not feel heavy. The front fuel tank is very helpful. No need to get down for petrol. It is easy for her. Yes I tell all my friends with families to go for this scooter. It is perfect for both men and women. Simple, smart and safe. My wife is happy with it and I use it sometimes too.
