KTM has updated the RC 200 supersport with a new TFT console, the same unit that we have seen on the gen-3 KTM Duke 390. Along with the new console, the brand has also made some changes to the bike’s switchgear as well. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what is new:
The biggest change is the addition of the new TFT console which has made the KTM RC 200 look and feel a lot more premium. The console brings a lot of new features to the table including smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts and music controls.
Earlier the bike was offered with a LCD console which looked rather plain, this was a big let down as the RC200’s rivals like the Yamaha R15M came with a more feature packed TFT console. Now, with the addition of this new TFT console, the RC 200 is more competitive in its segment.
Another change the addition of this new console has brought is the revised switchgear. The bike now gets the same 4-way switchgear as the more premium KTM 390 Duke. The switchgear is very tactile in our experience, and makes it a lot easier to toggle features such as the supermoto mode or even while just navigating through the menus.
Other than the addition of the new console and switchgear, the rest of the bike remains the same. It is still powered by the same 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 25PS at 10,000rpm and 19.2Nm at 8,000rpm.
According to our dealer sources, the bike’s price has remained unchanged with this update, and the RC 200 is sold at Rs 2,32,585 (ex-showroom Delhi). It goes up against other faired 200-odd cc bikes in the market such as the Yamaha R15M, the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 and the Hero Karizma XMR 210.
