This is the first ADV from the Chinese manufacturer to sport a 650cc v-twin engine

A set of leaked images suggest Chinese two-wheeler giant QJ Motor will soon introduce another ADV in its portfolio for its domestic market. This news comes six months after the patent images of the motorcycle leaked online. While there’s no official word on this bike’s debut yet, it is likely to be called SRT 650, given how the brand has named its other ADVs.

However, while the other SRTs follow a similar design language, this upcoming ADV looks distinct, with no massive beak or big, muscular fuel tank. Instead, the QJMotor SRT650 features a compact headlight with vertically stacked LED units, and a slim fuel tank with long extensions. In fact, QJMotor seems to have taken the maxi-enduro approach with a slim design which could be to save weight and should also translate to better handling.

Furthermore, to complement this sleek design, QJMotor has not used a parallel-twin engine but a V-twin unit. This 645cc liquid-cooled mill develops 76PS, which is way more than the 500cc parallel-twin engine’s 46PS which we have seen on the Benelli TRK 502 siblings.

Unfortunately, QJMotor chose not to make it an all-out hardcore off-roader. So instead of a 21/17-inch setup, the SRT650 comes with 19/17-inch wheels with an option to choose between wire-spoked rims and alloy wheels. These wheels are paired with dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear with Brembo calipers.

The upcoming QJMotor SRT650 is unlikely to come to India, but considering that this is Benelli’s and soon-to-be-launched-in-India Keeway’s parent company, we might see different applications of this V-twin engine here. Until then, if you are looking for an affordable “big” adventure motorcycle, you are restricted to the Benelli TRK 502 and Kawasaki Versys 650. And if it’s a V-twin ADV that you want, the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT remains your only option in this segment.
