In a recent video posted by Ola Electric on their Instagram account, we saw a teaser of the upcoming Ola electric bike. While we only got a glimpse of it, we think it is a roadster-style electric bike. The upcoming electric bike will likely be unveiled on Independence Day, on August 15, 2024.
What to Expect from the Upcoming Ola Electric Bike?
In the teaser, we can see the front profile of the electric bike, it looks like the bike will get a two LED headlight setup with a horizontal DRL, large tank shrouds on the side and a handlebar with an upright-style position. The Ola Electric CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal has posted several teasers of the bike earlier on his social media, through which we think the bike will be equipped with an in-house battery pack which is positioned where the fuel tank is usually placed, along with a chain-drive system that the company is developing. Earlier, Bhavish also posted a video of him testing an electric bike, we think it is the upcoming bike and hints towards it having an upright riding position.
The upcoming Ola electric bike will likely perform similarly to a 160cc petrol-powered bike and compete with other electric bikes like Revolt RV 400, Tork Kratos R, Oben Rorr and Matter Aera.
Expected Launch Date & Price
We expect the upcoming Ola electric bike to be unveiled on August 15, and a few variants of the electric bikes will be launched by early 2025. This aligns with the timeline revealed in the brand’s IPO (Initial Public Offering) documents. It could be priced around the Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
