The last month of the year won’t be as busy as the ones before… or will it?

After the excitement we saw in November, the last month of the year will be relatively sedate, with just a few new entrants in store. Here’s what to look forward to this month:

Hero XPulse 200T 4V

Estimated price - Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom)

Hero may launch the Xpulse 200T 4V, essentially the road-biased iteration of the XPulse 200 4V off-roader this month. Now, true to its on-road manners, the Xpulse 200T 4V will get the same 17-inch alloy wheels front and rear. Besides, it’ll also come a few new colours, along with the retro-looking headlight cowl and rubber fork gaiters. We expect the Xpulse 200T 4V to retail at a premium of about Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 over its 2-valve iteration.

2023 BMW S 1000 RR

Estimated price - Rs 21 lakh to Rs 25 (ex-showroom)

The 2023 iteration of the BMW S 1000 RR is the first major update the litre bike gets since its 2019 launch. Starting with the engine, the new model makes 209.38PS, which is 2.38PS more than the already massive number made by its predecessor.

Moreover, the new bike shows subtle styling tweaks. The front seems sharper and the rear a bit flatter, while the aerodynamic winglets are almost a straight lift from the track-only M 1000 RR. And of course, these changes don’t come cheap, with a price hike in the range of around Rs 1.5 lakh over the current model, and the bike will be launched later this month.

Before we leave…

Granted, the number of new launches for December aren’t much. But that doesn’t mean we’ll be starved for new bikes.

The chief reason for that is the India Bike Week 2022, which starts literally tomorrow! Here, we’ll see QJ Motor’s four-bike introductory lineup, and unveiling of the 2023 BMW S 1000 RR, and Harley-Davidson Nightster, among a few other surprise entries.

Then, once IBW is done and dusted, December is also the month we’ll get to experience the Bajaj Pulsar P150 and Matter Electric motorcycle. And finally, Royal Enfield will open bookings for the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, prior to its launch (and deliveries) which is slated for January ’23.
