TVS Apache RTX 300 Variants Explained: Which One Is For You?
The first adventure bike from the brand comes in 3 variants, and even the base one is pretty feature-packed!
The TVS Apache RTX 300 has been recently launched in India, starting at a price of Rs 1,99,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is available in 3 variants, with different sets of features. If you find choosing the right one to be challenging, worry not as we give you a detailed breakdown of what each variant gets, along with their introductory ex-showroom, Delhi rates.
TVS Apache RTX 300 Base Variant
Price: Rs 1,99,000
The base variant of the TVS Apache RTX 300 is for those riders who are looking for an affordable entry-point into the TVS Apache RTX 300 range. It has all the necessary features you’d expect, including the 4 Riding modes: Rally, Tour, Urban and Rain which modulate power delivery, ABS and traction control.
Along with this, the bike also features 3 ABS modes: Rally, Urban and Rain which gives varying levels of ABS intervention. There’s also 2 traction control modes: Rally and Urban as well. With these, the rider has the option to tweak how intense the riding aids are to suit the needs of different riding conditions.
It also gets a cruise control system as standard, and this should make long distance riding on the highway (with no traffic) easy. Lastly, there are adjustable brake and clutch levers which should enhance ride comfort by allowing riders to adjust brake and clutch positions according to their hand size.
Since this is the cheapest Apache RTX 300 variant, it lacks Bluetooth connectivity and related features. That means no call/SMS alerts and navigation. However, the 5-inch TFT console is still pretty info-packed as it shows the speed, fuel-level, time, odometer and tripmeter readouts.
This variant doesn’t get a dedicated mounting point for the Givi co-developed official top box, whereas all the other variants get it as standard. TVS Apache RTX 300 Top Variant
Price: Rs 2,14,000
The Apache RTX 300 Top Variant goes a bit further in terms of features. It gets a variable-intensity headlight, similar to what was offered on the Apache RTR 310. This headlight adjusts its brightness automatically depending on the bike’s speed. So at higher speeds, it becomes brighter and at lower speeds the headlight becomes dimmer.
There is also a map mirroring feature, which is basically full-fledged navigation. This works by allowing riders to broadcast Google Maps to the console, via their Android smartphone or iPhone. This is a nice feature to have, and offers more accurate direction readouts than a conventional turn-by-turn navigation system.
Lastly, it also gets a bidirectional quickshifter which makes it possible to do up and downshifts without having to engage the clutch. We think it's a useful feature, and will come in handy while riding in stop-go traffic. It comes in 3 colours: Lighting Black, Metallic Blue and Tarn Bronze.
This variant is perfect for those who are looking for a good balance of features and competitive pricing.
TVS Apache RTX 300 BTO
Price: Rs 2,29,000
The BTO (Built To Order) variant of the Apache RTX 300 offers the most premium experience out of the three. It has all the features that the Top variant gets but also gets a few extra bits including adjustable suspension, a brass coated chain and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
With this, the front suspension is adjustable for rebound and compression, whereas the rear offers preload adjustment. This feature brings a lot more versatility to the bike, allowing riders to adjust the suspension according to their preference.
The tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is another nice feature, displaying front and rear tyre pressures on the console. With this system, there’s no need to invest in a separate tyre pressure gauge. This variant also comes with a really nice variety of colours: Lighting Black, Metallic Blue, Tarn Bronze and Viper Green. We think the Viper Green colour scheme looks exceptionally good, and is our personal favourite.

All in all, we’d recommend getting the BTO version as it comes with all the features - that too at a premium of Rs 30,000 over the base variant. If you’re spending over Rs 2 lakh on a motorcycle, we’d recommend extending your budget just a bit more and getting the BTO version as the premium will not make a huge difference EMI-wise. Otherwise, the Top variant is still good enough for most riders.
If you have a really tight budget, you’ll be glad to know that the base variant doesn’t feel like a compromise either. It can get as practical as the Top variant if you can mount your phone with an aftermarket smartphone holder - for navigation.

For my inter state rides as I currently live in Ranchi but my home city is Chaibasa so I have to travel between these city a lot and this bike feels best when I ride for a longer distance. The major reason was the height of the bike, as I am 6.1 ft 24M, it is the best height bike for me. As I can feel that this bike is not for daily commuters as it is quite big for the Indian roads but the whole seen changes when you ride it on highways. I feel confident while riding this, one of my cousin have RE Himalayan and when compared to it, this bike feel more agile and is more practical. I would recommend this bike to only those who wants to have a best all rounder bike as it has best in the market technical specs, (even I have not fully explored all the modes of the bike thus far), it feels confident to ride on in many situations. I used BMW 310 gs before buy this bike but it beats the BMW 310 gs because of its features are fantastic. Relay involve this features, firstly, Its display and quick shifter. Most important is city ride, very comfortable no heating issues in city ride. The riding modes are fantastic. So this was the first time I rode a bike which had riding modes. Before this I thought features but work fantastically. The suspension is alright for the roads but it's not as comfortable as I thought. It's little stiff for an adventure bike. I didn't take it on proper off road but got the idea on city bumps. Bike is so manageable even for short riders. I'm just 5'8 and I was sceptical about whether to ride it or not and I was so surprised how well balanced this bike is. I can't even flat foot on my CB350RS and this one's has even taller seat yet I could manage it like any other bike. Weight distribution is good. The looks are awesome also the features provided in this price is very greatful to have. And it is the most comfortable bike in this budget. The bike always gets people noticing and excited about the price. The ride is really nice and comforting. A rider can easily ride this bike a minimum of 100km or more without getting tired. Affordable pricing for an adventure bike. After reading your reviews I was interested in this bike so this was a great choice for me. Since Himalayan 450 price was increased after the recent tax hike, this was the perfect price point for me to get my first ADV Bike. Great Handling, easily manageable in rush hour traffic, great seating height as I am on the taller side. I have gone on multiple above 50 km rides on this bike and faced no issues so far. The riding modes are a big plus point in this bike. Yes I would definitely recommend this bike. I was looking for a bike which just fits right in my pocket and offers great features. And then just got the news of this Adventure bike from TVS. TVS has been one my favourite brands considerably because it is made in India. The second reason is its look. wow. Who can offer such ergonomics at this price. It is incredible. Every ride feels exciting and adventurous even though I might be riding on the same route. It is comfortable for both the rider and pillion. I am just 5.8 feet and I am able to land my foot at ease.
