Have a look at what changes the updated version flaunts through detailed images

TVS has given the Apache RTR 160 a much-needed overhaul – making the bike more relevant in today’s 160cc market– -, with modern-day styling and features. So let’s see how different the bike is from its predecessor through detail images:

More Performance!

The most exciting update for the RTR 160 is definitely the bump in power. While the current-gen RTR 160’s engine is the familiar 159.7cc air-cooled one, it now makes 16.04PS and 13.85Nm, 0.51PS more but 0.05Nm less than its predecessor. The new bike is also 2kg lighter than the outgoing model. Now that’s impressive!

More Tech

TVS has replaced the previous-gen RTR 160’s semi-analogue cluster with a new digital unit that facilitates Bluetooth connectivity and also boasts TVS’ SmartXonnect tech with voice assist, a segment-first feature. Also on offer are features like turn-by-turn navigation, gear position indicator and shift assist, call and notification alerts and more. That said, only the top-of-the-line 2022 RTR 160 gets Bluetooth connectivity.

Riding Modes

The LCD console also has three riding modes: Sport, Urban and Rain, which can be changed on-the-fly, and alter the throttle mapping as well as ABS sensitivity.

Revised Styling

While the overall styling is the same, the RTR 160 gets a redesigned LED headlight and taillight units. That, coupled with the updated graphics, make the new RTR 160 look a tad bit sportier than before. There are other styling changes with a redesigned headlight cowl as well as side panels. That said, we think the bike should’ve undergone some major design changes to go for an even fresher look.

Changes Under The Body

The TVS Apache RTR 160 is now driven by X-ring chains. Other changes that aren’t visible to the naked eye include a wider 120-section tyre at the rear, as opposed to the 110-section that was on the bike earlier.

More Price….

The 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160’s drum variant now retails for Rs 1,17,790, while the disc variant costs Rs 1,21,290, meaning they carry a premium of Rs 4,050 and Rs 4,550 over their previous iterations respectively. The top-of-the-line bluetooth-enabled variant, on the other hand, carries a Rs 1,24,590 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi) price tag. While the premium sounds like a small one, given that you now have more power, better technology and tyres, we wish TVS had changed the styling a bit more, to increase the RTR 160’s youthful appeal.
