The updated iteration of the Honda Elite 125 has been launched in Brazil

  • The Honda Elite 125 gets new colour schemes as part of its latest update.
  • Mechanicals have remained unchanged.
  • Costs an equivalent of Rs 1.35 lakh.

The updated Honda Elite 125 has been launched in Brazil. The latest iteration comes with new colour schemes: white, metallic grey, and pearl red. Compared to its predecessor, the new-gen model comes with blacked out lower side panels and black highlights on the apron. Honda has priced the scooter at BRL 10,120 (suggested retail price), which is around Rs 1.35 lakh.

The scooter looks properly sporty with twin angular LED headlamps, and wedge-shaped indicators, both integrated into the apron. The bodywork at the rear is slightly upswept, with a contoured single-piece seat and a sporty grab rail. Honda has ensured the scooter is practical too, thanks to the inclusion of an apron-mounted hook, twin cubby holes on the apron, an underseat storage large enough to hold a full-face helmet, and a parking brake. It gets a circular LCD instrument cluster, but there’s no smartphone connectivity even as an option.

The scooter employs a 124.9cc single-cylinder air-cooled, fuel-injected engine churning out 9.46PS at 7500rpm and 10.29Nm at 6000rpm. Comparatively, the India-spec Honda Grazia 125’s heart makes 8.25PS and 10.3Nm. The Elite 125 is built on an underbone frame with a telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock, painted in red for a sporty appeal. Just like the Grazia 125, this one too rolls on a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheel wrapped with 90-section and 100-section tyres respectively. And with a 772mm tall seat and 104kg dry weight, the scooter should be fairly easy to manoeuvre for shorter riders.

All in all, the updated Honda Elite 125 looks like a much sportier version of the Grazia with a little more power on tap. We hope Honda updates the Grazia with an Elite 125-inspired styling and adds smartphone connectivity in the future. That should help the scooter have a much better chance against the TVS NTorq 125 Race XP, which is currently the sportiest and most feature-packed scooter in the 125cc segment.
