Suzuki has unveiled the GSX-S150 Special Version in Thailand. The new motorcycle gets cosmetic updates in the form of new body panels and colours but continues to use the same powertrain and underpinnings of the stock GSX-S150. The GSX-S150 is Suzuki’s answer to Yamaha’s MT-15.

The GSX-S150 Special Version gets extra body panels in the form of an engine fairing that sits between the fuel tank and engine cowl. It also gets a lip below the LED headlamp unit. Suzuki even sells a slightly altered variant of the engine fairing and headlamp cover as optional accessories. Besides, it comes in three two-tone paint schemes: yellow/black, black/red and silver/red. The black/red variant also gets sporty-looking red wheels. It continues to use features like an LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, and a digital instrument console.

Other than the cosmetic updates, the powertrain and underpinnings remain unchanged. The motorcycle continues to be powered by a 147.3cc liquid-cooled DOHC motor that delivers 18.6PS and 13.8Nm and uses a 6-speed gearbox. Underpinnings comprise telescopic forks and linked monoshock. Braking is via disc brakes at both ends.

We do not see the Suzuki GSX-S150 coming to India anytime soon. Instead, we get the Gixxer 150 and larger-engined Gixxer 250 here. The Gixxer 250 does not get a liquid-cooled motor, but a unique oil-cooled engine. It even gets a faired 250cc cousin. To know more, check out the Gixxer SF 250 review here
