Scooter from Yamaha Seen Testing

Yamaha Motors, known for producing some of the most powerful and masculine looking bikes, will soon be bringing their maiden scooter, Yamaha Ray. The scooter was spotted doing test runs on the roads of Chennai, which means the Indian roads would soon be adorned with Yamaha’s latest offering. It seems that maybe Yamaha is planning to make Diwali even brighter with the onset of this scooter. John Abraham, the brand endorser for Yamaha bikes had unveiled the concept scooter, Ray, during the Auto Expo that happened early this year. On the looks of it, Yamaha Ray has stylish looks that would floor the fairer gender. The Scooter is said to be powered by a 125cc four stroke engine which would be capable of producing a power of 9 bhp. Yamaha Ray would be a direct competitor to Suzuki’s latest Suzuki Swish.  Swish is also powered by an engine of pretty similar capacity of 124 cc, which delivers a power of 8.58 bhp. Suzuki Swish has more neutral looks in comparison to the Yamaha Ray.

The scooter, Ray, is extremely girly and feminine looking. It is also expected that this ride would be on the lines of Suzuki Access 125 in terms of pricing. Yamaha India has superb and powerful bikes like Yamaha FZS, Yamaha Frazer, Yamaha R15 and regular day to day usage bikes like Yamaha Crux, in its kitty. Yamaha Motors has a very masculine image and their brand endorser, apart from being a bike lover, satisfies the same. In fact in the pictures that are available on the internet for Yamaha Ray, John Abraham can be seen posing with it. It sure looks as if Yamaha might want to take on a female endorser as well. Though Yamaha India has not yet clarified its stand on the status of the launch of the scooter but with these spy shots, it seems, the launch isn’t far away.
