The renowned motorcycle brand and a fully-owned subsidiary of Eicher Motors, Royal Enfield has acquired famous European chassis maker Harris Performance for an undisclosed amount. Established over 40 years ago by two brothers, Steve and Lester Harris and Stephen Bayford, the UK-based firm is one of the leading players in designing and manufacturing of specialised motorcycle chassis and components. Moreover, it had been largely associated with Royal Enfield as it carried out the chassis development of the company’s well-known cafe racer bike, Continental GT. Under the terms of the deal, Royal Enfield will acquire all assets, employees, trade names, technical know-how and intellectual property of Harris Performance Products Ltd.

Mr. Siddhartha Lal, CEO Royal Enfield said, “Royal Enfield is working on its new generation of products and platforms; to have the Harris Performance team dedicatedly working with us will clearly enhance our engineering and product design capabilities. All of the current staff at Harris Performance will now become employees of Royal Enfield, taking responsibility of performance and development engineering for our new range of motorcycles. They will be part of Royal Enfield's upcoming UK Tech Centre.”

Apart from having a fruitful relationship with Royal Enfield, Harris Performance is the only manufacturer from UK to have been officially commissioned by Yamaha and Suzuki to design, develop and manufacture race bikes for Grand Prix and World Superbike Championship.

On the occasion, Mr. Steve Harris, Founder, Harris Performance said: "Having worked with Eicher Motors Ltd's motorcycle brand Royal Enfield for a number of years as a Technical Partner, we have experienced first-hand their capability, commitment, and ambition for their motorcycles and accessories."
