From the next year, if you want to own a Cafe Racer you don’t have to go to a custom bike dealer to modify your bike because Royal Enfield, which has been super active these days and launching bikes at regular interval is going to launch India’s first Cafe Racer soon. The bike-maker has recently launched its second generation Thunderbird and is now preparing for its next big launch in 2013, Royal Enfield Cafe Racer 500, which will be the lightest bike ever of Royal Enfield line up. The bike will feature the same 500cc unit construction engine that is doing duty in other RE bikes as well. The upcoming Cafe Racer 500 will be the most stylish and sporty bike from the RE’s stable till now and probably the first Cafe Racer in the country. In the pictures you can see that the bike’s designing is very aggressive and rear set foot-pegs, dropped down handlebars and revised suspension is expected to make the Cafe Racer a sharp handler.

The Cafe Racer will get disc brakes at both front and rear that will be the first in Royal Enfield’s history. To maintain the true cafe racer style, the seat is stretched for the rider to crouch on the tank during high speed runs. Except designing and rear disk all other features are same as Thunderbird 500 like projector headlight, fuel injection, gas-charged suspension, rear disc brake, digital LCD console. With all these features, the Cafe Racer 500 is expected to be priced somewhere around the Thunderbird 500 model. The Cafe Racer will be an important chapter in the Indian motorcycling history given that this motorcycle will be the first cafe racer to be designed, developed and launched in India.

So, stay tuned for further updates on the same. Cheers!!!
