TVS has released a new teaser on its official social media channel for the Apache range, hinting at something new to its popular Apache series. While the company hasn't confirmed the model name, the teaser carries the caption, “Not just powerful. Not just fierce. Now equipped to lead with confidence.” If you ask us, this clearly indicates the presence of a safety feature.
Which Apache?
The twin LED DRLs shown in the teaser appear to be that of the Apache RTR 160 2V or the 180, but we think it’s the 180 since TVS recently updated the RTR 200. Naturally, the next in line in terms of displacement could be the 180cc Apache.
What’s New
Considering the caption, it could be possible that the TVS Apache RTR 180 will get a dual-channel ABS. Apart from this, we may also expect new colour schemes as the bike is currently available only in two colours: Gloss Black and Pearl White. The update could be in the form of a new top variant, just like how TVS does with the 160 4V.
Price
This new and updated top-spec Apache RTR 180 is expected to carry a premium of about Rs 3,000 over the current version on sale. Right now, the Apache 180 has a price tag of Rs 1,35,020. If our guess is correct, then the upcoming variant will be priced close to the top-end variant of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. It comes with an inverted fork, dual-channel ABS and costs Rs 1,39,990 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
