Matter’s First Electric Bike To Be Launched Today

This is India’s first electric two-wheeler to get a liquid-cooled battery and motor!

Matter Energy is all set to launch its first electric bike in India, today at 12pm. This yet unnamed motorcycle is India’s first electric bike with a liquid-cooled battery pack and motor. 

Unveiled in November last year, the motorcycle has an IP65-rated 10.5kW, liquid-cooled, mid-mounted motor featuring a four-speed manual gearbox complete with a clutch! It was quite an impressive product to see in the flesh because of some unseen features, all of which have been detailed here. We had also seen the Matter electric bike at the 2023 Auto Expo, where the EV maker had also showcased two concepts, a naked and an adventure bike.

While the name of Matter’s first electric bike has been tightly kept under wraps, our curiosity led us to find nine trademarks that the company had filed in August last year. Check them out in our exclusive story. Out of these nine names, we think Matter may choose to christen its first bike ‘Air’, as the invite sent to us contains references to wind and air.

We expect the Matter electric bike to be priced at around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will rival the likes of the Tork Kratos. With its specs, this electric bike could be considered a worthy rival to ICE motorcycles like the Bajaj Pulsar P150, Honda Unicorn and TVS Apache RTR 160, but its price may beg to differ.
