After much speculation over its launch date, Mahindra Gusto 125 has been unveiled today by the company. However, the official launch will take place at the Auto Expo next month. Mahindra has been trying hard to increase its presence in the Indian two-wheeler market after its previous motorcycle launch, the 300cc Mojo, has not garnered the expected response. Hence, the company has changed tracks and released a more powerful version of its highest selling scooter, the Gusto. With the new Gusto 125, Mahindra will compete with segment leaders Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access

For the Gusto 125, Mahindra has used a newly-built 124.6cc engine that features a stronger crankshaft, high energy HT coil, high inertia magneto and series regulator. This engine, using the M-Tech technology, will produce 8.6bhp of power and 10Nm of torque. Its sensing multi-curve ignition and low friction piston rings are designed to generate the best possible torque. The company claims it to be the best overall package available in the market, which has been designed to provide best-in-class pickup and mileage. While there is no official fuel economy figure available, we expect it to stretch a litre of petrol for around 60 km.

The company has retained all other features from its 110cc sibling. The 125cc version also gets a height adjustable seat, remote flip-key with guide lamp, ‘follow me home’ headlamp, LED pilot lamps, quick storage compartment and an easy front kick mechanism. The scooter will run on 12-inch tubeless tyres but lacks a disc brake, which we feel should have been included in the package.

As per the company, the Mahindra Gusto 125 has been developed with inputs from Peugeot Scooters. The scooter will be available in two variants, similar to the 110cc Gusto, and is expected to be priced Rs. 6000-7000 over its lower capacity sibling when it goes on sale. The exact price along with further details will be available at its launch during the Auto Expo in February.

Very Balacing Scooter

You know Mahindra Gusto is one of the toughest scooters in India, in comparison to other same price scooters, it is way better than others. If I tell you about its handling, it is a very balancing scooter cause it has much ground clearance. Read More
