KTM's Website Shows KTM 390 is 'Coming Soon to India'

It is KTM Duke 390, which is making Indian youth specially the bike lovers impatient and excited, and to increase the level of excitement  KTM’s website also mark the Duke 390 with a “coming soon” tag. We are expecting the Duke 390 to arrive into India by March 2013 and the motorcycle will be the second KTM bike in India after doing well KTM Duke 200. The bike will be manufactured locally at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan manufacturing facility. The Duke 390 shares most parts with the Duke 390 except the main differentiating factor, its engine and engine mounting. The chassis design of the bike has been kept similar to its another sibling Duke 125, by using the chassis design of the Duke 125, KTM engineers have fixed the way bigger 375cc engine of Duke 390 in the same frame of Duke 200. The graphics of the bike are also almost similar to the Duke 200. There are some changes have also been incorporated, biggest of them is 373.2cc single cylinder-liquid cooled engine, which belts out a peak power of 43bhp at 9,250 rpm with the peak torque of 35Nm coming in at 7,250 rpm. The bike weighs 139kg only, which returns a very good power to weight ratio and thus the bike can attain a maximum speed about 160kmph easily. The fuel tank of the bike is also stretched and it fills 0.5 litre more fuel than the Duke 200’s.

The bike will have ABS on its European version as standard, however it will come optional on Indian Duke 390. Bajaj will try to launch it with an affordable price tag. We are expecting it around Rs. 2 lakh for non-ABS variant  and if it happens the bike will perform well for sure.
