KTM RC 390 will be manufactured by Bajaj Auto Limited only in India for both domestic and other international markets. Based on the Duke 390’s platform, the bike has been bolted on the similar space tubular steel frame with a little alteration. It receives new body panels with a full body fairing like a proper track machine, however, the exhaust has been kept underbelly type.

With advance twin projector headlamp, KTM RC 390 also gets LED taillamp, while turn indicator remains similar to the Duke. With clip-on handlebars, split seat and a masculine fuel tank, it provides a lean forward seating position, giving a perfect track experience. The fully digital instrument console comes with a big LCD screen, which is easy to read during ride.

KTM RC 390 is powered by the same 373.2cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine with 4-valve configuration, which also powers the Duke 390. Mated with a 6-speed gear box, the engine churns out a maximum power of 43bhp and 35Nm of peak torque, using EFI technology. Its powerful engine and light weight, aerodynamic body makes it capable to achieve a top speed of 175kmph.

With inverted telescopic forks at the front, KTM RC 390 uses a WP single shock with aluminium swing-arm at the rear. To control the bike even at the high speeds, it comes equipped with 300mm and 230mm petal disc brakes at the front and rear respectively, both of which assisted by ABS system.

The bike is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.25 lakh and it will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Hyosung GT250R and Honda CBR250R in the Indian market.
