For Saumdeep, an IT professional from Silicon valley of India, Bengaluru, the KTM Pro-XP Great Ladakh Adventure Tour was more than just a tour, it was the beginning of a deep bond with his new tour partner, the new KTM 390 Adventure. A Smooth Performer on the Highways

Right from its highway performance, this bike impressed him by how effortlessly it cruised. The refined engine, smooth power delivery and responsive throttle made long-distance riding feel easy. Overtaking on the highway was quick and stress free. The bike’s great mid-range power made every throttle twist exciting. The upright posture and wind protection added to the comfort, making high-speed travel feel stable and controlled. He says that after 4,000rpm, nothing can touch it.

Carving Corners with Confidence

As he reached Manali and the route took a twistier turn, Saumdeep discovered another strength of his bike is its sharp handling and cornering abilities. The new 390 Adventure felt agile and planted, which gave him confidence to lean into curves with ease. And with this new confidence he was able to enjoy the mountain roads like a seasoned rider.

First Steps into Off-Roading

While Saumdeep had no prior experience in off-roading, Ladakh gave him the perfect opportunity to explore this new dimension of riding and KTM 390 Adventure made the transition smooth. Its lightweight design, great maneuverability, and off-road capable suspension gave him the confidence to take on challenging terrains like rocks, or river crossings.

The suspension setup stood out for him. It soaked up harsh bumps and expected surfaces with ease, keeping him comfortable and the bike under control. With every off-road trail, Saumdeep grew more confident, learning to trust the bike’s low-end torque and smooth throttle response in tough situations. 

Conquering Umling La with Ease

His ultimate moment of the tour was the climb to Umling LA, the world's highest motorable pass. Many bikes struggle at such high altitude, but KTM 390 Adventure performed otherwise. The bike was climbing effortlessly in second and third gear, showing no drop in power delivery, despite the thin air. The bike’s reliable power delivery and cooling system gave him full confidence, even at extreme altitudes.
