Jawa Perak Launch Date Confirmed

The factory customer bobber is all set to be launched on November 15

The Perak will be the third model in Jawa’s lineup. It’s powered by a slightly bigger 334cc single-cylinder engine.  Features a redesigned rear end, a single tan seat, low-set handlebars, and more!

Go back in time, around a year from now and you’d remember the unveiling of three new bikes from Jawa in November 2018. The lineup comprised of the classic Jawa, Jawa 42 and the factory customer bobber, the Perak. The first two have already made it into the market. Well, almost. However, there were no leads about the bobber’s launch date ever since its unveiling. That’s all changed, though, as the brand has announced November 15 as the launch date.

It’s safe to say that the custom factory bobber looks wicked in every sense. While the front end looks identical to the standard Jawa, the Perak’s rear receives a complete overhaul, and that’s where the magic lies. The essence of a bobber lies intact. It features a single tan seat below which lies a linked monoshock which sits on a 'swing cage' swingarm (like the Triumph Bonneville Bobber). The mechanicals are covered in back while the bodywork are finished in a dark matte grey paint scheme. There’s no hint of chrome, which gels well with the bike’s sinister character.

Bobbers are known to be fast, and the Perak isn’t any different. It features a slightly bigger, 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC motor that produces 30PS and 31Nm of torque. According to Jawa, the bobber’s engine has been reworked with a bigger bore but retains the stroke, which translates to the spike in power.

It also uses stickier Pirelli tyres instead of the stock MRF ones seen its siblings. Putting the anchor down are disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard. As for its price tag, the Jawa Perak is expected to set you back by around 1.89 lakh (all ex-showroom Delhi). While it doesn’t have a direct rival, the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X comes pretty close.
