If rumours are to be believed, Ducati might come up with a ‘super’ machine as it is planning to add the eldest member in the Scrambler family, an 1100cc variant in the coming time. Till now it has the 800cc model as its most powerful Scrambler unit that delivers 73.9 bhp of power at 8,250 rpm and a peak torque of 68 Nm. If the company offers any 1100cc variant the series, the engine it would get can be from Ducati's Monster 1100. Current specs of the Monster 1100 are:

  • Engine: 1078 cc L-twin cylinder 2 valves per cylinder Desmodromic engine
  • Maximum power: 93.7 bhp at 7,500rpm
  • Torque: 102.9Nm at 6,000rpm

While commenting on the new 1100cc Scrambler, Ducati’s CEO Claudio Domenicali said, “An 1100cc model can still be a Scrambler as long as it keeps to the same formula and doesn’t try to be too technical or make things too complex. There will be a family of Scrambler motorcycles. All of these will be called Scrambler and they will be about simple fun; something that sits on the other side of the garage from the Ducati sports bike and is perfect for a Sunday morning ride to get a coffee. These bikes will be about basic technology, just the bike and nothing more.”
