Honda Motorcycle and Scooter Ltd, the leading scooter manufacturer in India, today launched its most affordable scooter Activa-I, which Honda calls the ‘personal compact scooter’. Honda Activa-I has been launched at a price tag of Rs. 44,200 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi), making it the most affordable offering from Honda. With the Honda Activa-I , Honda has entered into the personal compact scooter segment, which holds a good 25 per cent of the scooter segment in India.
Apart from being affordable, Honda Activa-I comes with all important features like Combi Brake System (CBS) reducing the braking distance by 24 per cent, tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery, viscous air filter, and a storage space of 18 litres. Honda Activa-I’s lean and compact design and 103kgs of weight make it easy to handle in traffic.
Honda Activa-I features the same 109cc engine that of the Activa, which also features Honda’s revolutionary HET technology, which promises a dream mileage of 60kmpl. Leaving competition way behind in the roads, Activa-i gives best in class net power of 5.83kw (8 BHP), superb torque output of 8.74Nm@5500 RPM for better pickup and effortless riding with higher initial and overtaking acceleration. Activa-i comes in 4 stunning colors – Beige Metallic, Pearl Sunbeam White, Alpha Red Metallic and Purple Metallic. It will be available for sale across India by end of June’13.
