Honda CB250R Updated For 2022 In Malaysia

Almost as powerful as the KTM 250 Duke, but weighs 26kg less

Almost as powerful as the KTM 250 Duke, but weighs 26kg less

Honda Malaysia has given the CB250R a bunch of functional updates for 2022,.

For 2022, Honda has thrown in Showa’s Big Piston Separate Function Inverted Fork. Along with that you get a five-step preload-adjustable monoshock. Its LCD instrument cluster now comes with a gear position indicator, something that the India-spec CB300R got earlier this year.

At the heart of the bike is a 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine making 27.6PS and 23.4Nm, which is 2.4PS and 0.6Nm less than the KTM 250 Duke. That said, it tips the scales at 144kg, a whole 26kg lighter than its Austrian counterpart. Sounds exciting!

Other unchanged bits include a 296mm disc brake up front along with a 220mm one at the rear, with the added safety net of dual-channel ABS. Backing its sporty credentials, the streetfighter gets 17-inch wheels at both ends, with a 110-section tyre at the front and a 150-section tyre at the rear. It also gets LED lighting all around.

The 2022 Honda CB250R has been priced at 23,999 RM (approximately Rs 4.27 lakh). While the model probably won’t be making its way to India, we already have the Honda CB300R here, equipped with the same goodies, a larger engine with more performance. You can also consider other quarter-litre nakeds on sale today like the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Yamaha FZ25 and Bajaj Pulsar N250

Honda CB300R handles very poorly

I personally feel that Honda CB300R handles very poorly compared to other bikes in this segment. The bike being light in weight, high wind speeds easily topples the whole bike and makes it exceedingly unstable at speeds above 80 kilometers per hour. I ride this bikes at city approx 34 kmpl on soft throttle which is low. I do not even hard push the bike on highways.Read More
