Honda CB Hornet 160R to be Launched on 10th December 2015

Completing the promise to launch 15 new/updated products this year, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd. (HMSI) is going to launch the last product for the year- CB Hornet 160R on the 10th of December 2015. The bike was unveiled in August 2015 at the Honda Revfest, which is based on the successful Honda CB Unicorn 160. Along with the platform, it also shares the refined 160cc engine with its sibling. However, the styling of the upcoming CB Hornet is much different and new.

The aggressive looking Honda CB Hornet 160R is no doubt one of the best-looking motorcycles in the respective segment. It has features like a masculine design, sharp headlight, split spoke alloy wheels, fat tyres, rear mono-shock suspension, dual petal disc brakes, CBS (Combi Brake System), fully digital console, ‘X’ shaped LED tail lamp, streetfighter type handlebar and much more. With all these features, the bike is expected to be positioned against the offerings like Yamaha FZ-S FI V2.0 and Suzuki Gixxer, which comes in the upper premium class of the 150cc segment in India.

The 162.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, HET engine of the Honda CB Unicorn 160 makes 14.5bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 14.6Nm at 6,000rpm. However, the performance figures of the motor could be retuned for the upcoming CB Hornet 160R. The mill has been mated to a smooth 5-speed gearbox using a wet multi-plate type clutch assembly. Furthermore, it has been coupled with a sporty, short muffler, which makes an excellent throaty sound to give a predator feel.

Due to the much premium features of the Honda CB Hornet 160R, it will be priced slightly higher than the CB Unicorn 160 and is expected to be priced around Rs. 82,000.
