Hero Super Splendor Xtec 2.0 Drum Variant

The Drum variant is the entry point into the Xtec 2.0 range, but it gets everything that defines the 2.0 upgrade. The additions include a Type-C charging port, a silent starter, an engine kill switch, and new paint schemes. It also retains the orange-backlit full-digital meter, Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, LED headlamp with LED DRL, Idle-Stop-Start System (i3S), and hazard lights, among other key features. Hero Super Splendor Xtec 2.0 Disc Variant

The Disc variant of the new Super Splendor Xtec 2.0 commands a premium of Rs 3,500 over the Drum variant, for a 240mm front disc brake replacing the drum setup. Plus, it is about a kilogram lighter. Everything else stays the same, but the added braking power from the front disc brake gives you more confidence, especially in emergency braking situations. If your commutes are long-distance, involving mixed terrain, or you are a spirited rider, the Disc variant is the recommended one to go with.
What Makes Them Identical?
Apart from the front brake, both the Drum and Disc variants of the Super Splendor Xtec 2.0 are mechanically identical. Their Diamond-type frame sits on 18-inch alloys, shod with 80/100-section front and 90/90 rear tubeless tyres. Both get a telescopic front and a set of five-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. They offer a decent 170mm ground clearance and an accessible seat height of 788mm.
The 124.7cc, 2-valve, air-cooled engine, refined over decades, produces 10.7PS and 10.6Nm, and comes paired with a slick five-speed gearbox. With a 12-litre fuel tank, both variants claim a range of over 750km, considering the ARAI-rated fuel efficiency.
