First TVS-BMW motorcycle spotted testing

It has been already reported that the upcoming TVS-BMW motorcycle is codenamed as ‘K03’ and it could come out of cover by the end of 2015. Now, here are some spy pictures of the First TVS-BMW motorcycle snapped during testing. The bike in the pictures doesn't look production ready yet, however, it seems to be a naked sport motorcycle like the KTM Duke twins.

As per the previous reports and the codename of the motorcycle, the upcoming TVS-BMW K03 will be powered by a 300cc engine, which will be single-cylinder type, most probably. We can expect a power output of around 40bhp coming between 9,000 - 10,000 rpm from this short stroke, liquid-cooled motor that uses electronic fuel injection system. Body work of the bike is not looking complete on the test mule, however, you can notice these features clearly:

. A compact design with minimal use of body panels.

. Headlight could be projector type and LED tail lamp mounted on the rear fender.

. Comfortable upright seating posture.

. Inverted telescopic front forks and rear mono-shock suspension with casted swing arm.

. Front and rear disc brakes.

. Newly designed alloys, looking light weight.

. Around 110/70 section front and 150/60 section rear tyres.

. Streetfighter type handlebar and raised tail.

. Side-slung type exhaust muffler and open type chain drive.

All above mentioned features of the upcoming TVS-BMW K03 are looking much similar to its rival KTM 390 Duke. We can also expect a dual channel ABS as a standard feature in the Indo-German bike. The test bike could also be a platform for other type of entry-level-performance motorcycles like a mini GS Adventure Sport bike and a faired Racing Sport machine. These other models based on the similar platform can be expected to come in existence by 2016 and all these will also be manufactured by TVS using the BMW’s technology like the K03.
