Ducati 959 Panigale Corse Launched In India

The special-edition motorcycle features exclusive MotoGP-inspired livery and black wheels

The special-edition motorcycle features exclusive MotoGP-inspired livery and black wheels

Ducati India has launched a special edition of its “entry-level” track bike, the 959 Panigale. Called the 959 Panigale Corse, the motorcycle features an exclusive colour scheme that’s inspired from the Desmosedici 18 MotoGP bike. The 955cc liquid cooled Desmodromic L-twin churns out 157PS at 10,500rpm and 107.4Nm at 9000rpm.

Reining all that power in is a full suite of electronics, including three riding modes- Race, Sport and Wet. There’s also a latest-gen Bosch 9MP ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and ride-by-wire. While the international-spec motorcycle features Ohlins suspension, lithium-ion battery, Ohlins steering damper and Ducati Performance titanium exhaust by Akrapovic, the India-spec bike does not get any of these features, presumably due to cost constraints.

At Rs 15.2 lakh, ex-showroom pan-India, the 959 Panigale Corse is Rs 67,000 more expensive than the standard model. It doesn’t exactly have any natural rivals in its segment; however, in terms of pricing, it competes with the more powerful yet competitively-priced Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. The Japanese track tamer undercuts the Italian by Rs 9,000 while offering 43PS and 6.1Nm more, apart from even more advanced electronics package. Here’s Ducati’s official release regarding the launch:

Press Release:

Ducati launches the 959 Panigale Corse in India

The special edition 959 Panigale Corse launched at INR 15,20,000 (Ex-Showroom, India), bookings now open across all Ducati dealerships

The 959 Panigale Corse gets a dedicated color scheme inspired by the colors of the MotoGP

New Delhi, 25 September 2018: Luxury motorcycle manufacturer Ducati, today announced the launch of the 959 Panigale Corse in India at a price of INR 15,20,000 (Ex-Showroom, India). The version coming to India is a special edition sporting a dedicated livery inspired by the Ducati Corse MotoGP colours.

Sergi Canovas, Managing Director of Ducati India Pvt. Ltd. said, “The Panigale has always been the definite Ducati superbike that allows biking enthusiasts to have an unparalleled experience on a race track. The 959 Panigale embodies absolute excellence through the advanced electronics package that inspires confidence and allows riders to explore the limit. In this special Corse livery, the 959 looks much more special and unique as the paint scheme is inspired by the colours of our MotoGP bike, the Desmosedici GP 18.”

The 959 Panigale Corse gets a 955 cc Superquadro engine that is Euro 4 type-approved. 157Hhp of power at 10,500 rpm and a torque of 107.4 Nm at 9,000 rpm are numbers worthy of a Superbike, which on the 959 Panigale Corse are managed not only by an advanced chassis but also by a top-of-the-line technical package.

To inspire confidence when riding at any speed in varying conditions, the 959 Panigale Corse is equipped with a state of the art electronics package which includes the latest generation two channel Bosch ABS 9MP, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ride-by-Wire (RbW). Thanks to the Ducati Riding Modes, the electronic settings can be altered differently to give the bike three different personalities. The 3 Riding Modes available in the 959 Panigale Corse are Race, Sport and Wet. However, the version available in India is not equipped with the Ohlins suspensions, lithium battery, Ohlins steering damper and Ducati Performance titanium silencers by Akrapovic.

The 959 Panigale Corse comes with the Ducati Corse livery with black wheels. Bookings are now open across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata & Chennai and the motorcycle will be displayed at DRE Track Days, which will be held at the Buddh International Circuit, on 13th and 14th October.

Unmatched Performance, Guaranteed.

After riding the v2 for about a year I realized that there is no supersports (at the mid segment range) that comes close.
