Ather Konarc To Launch On August 29

The new electric scooter is expected to be priced between Rs 1-1.25 lakh (ex-showroom)

Quick News Highlights:

  • Ather Community Day 2026 to be held on August 29

  • First production scooter based on the new EL platform to be launched

  • New platform targets the Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.25 lakh price segment

Ather has announced that the fourth edition of its annual Community Day will take place on August 29, 2026, in Bengaluru. The biggest highlight of this year's event will be the unveiling of, and most likely, the launch of the first production scooter based on Ather's all-new EL platform.

The EL platform is Ather's first completely new vehicle architecture since the launch of the 450 series. The platform is designed to be more scalable and easier to manufacture; it will underpin multiple future Ather scooters across different segments. Alongside the new scooter, Ather will also reveal new technology, charging solutions and ownership ecosystem upgrades aimed at making the EV experience more seamless.

What To Expect From The New EL Scooter?

The upcoming scooter is expected to draw heavily from the Ather EL01 concept showcased earlier. It features a family-friendly design with a boxy silhouette, a handlebar-mounted LED headlight and apron-mounted DRLs. A long single-piece seat, spacious floorboard and generous underseat storage should make it a practical everyday family scooter.

The EL platform will support battery packs ranging from 2kWh to 5kWh, although this scooter is likely to sit somewhere in the middle of that range. Power could come from a motor related to the 450X's unit but tuned for everyday usability.

Feature highlights are expected to include a TFT display with navigation, smartphone connectivity, voice commands, reverse mode, hill-hold assist, cruise control and safety features from AtherStack 7, such as crash alerts and pothole alerts. The scooter is also expected to feature Ather's Advanced Electrical Braking System (AEBS), which combines regenerative braking with conventional braking for improved efficiency and control.

Expected Price

With an expected price between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom), the new EL platform scooter will help Ather compete more aggressively in India's fast-growing mass-market EV space. Once launched, the upcoming Ather scooter will go against the likes of Bajaj Chetak C2501, TVS Orbiter, Ampere Nexus and the Vida VX2 in India.
