Design

The new Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP get a comprehensive design overhaul, with a new LED headlight with integrated DRLs. The bikes get a wide handlebar, a slim fuel tank, along with a flat seat. They also get a front beak integrated into the headlight cowl, which adds a unique touch to their design. The bikes also get a golden-coloured inverted fork and twin underseat exhausts that add to their sporty appeal.

The standard Hypermotard V2 gets the classic Ducati Red paint scheme, while the V2 SP features a special sports livery with a '20' decal celebrating 20 years since the original Hypermotard was showcased at EICMA in 2005.

Brand-New Engine

The 2026 Ducati Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP are powered by a brand-new 890cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine, similar to the one in the Ducati Panigale V2 and the Monster V2. In the Hypermotard, it makes 120.4 PS and 94 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter.

Compared to the older 950cc Testastretta V2 engine, the new engine makes 6 PS more power. However, the torque is down by 2 Nm.

Underpinnings

The Hypermotard V2 gets an all-new monocoque frame and rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends. The standard V2 model gets a fully adjustable 46 mm KYB fork with 170 mm of travel and a preload and rebound-adjustable monoshock with 160 mm of travel. It comes with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, while braking duties are handled by twin 320 mm discs at the front with Brembo M4.32 calipers and a 245 mm disc at the rear with a 2-piston caliper.

The SP variant gets upgraded fully adjustable Ohlins suspension at both ends and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres. It weighs 177 kg, making it 3 kg lighter than the standard model, which weighs 180 kg (both kerb).

Updated Electronics

The Hypermotard V2 gets a 5-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and call and SMS alerts. The bike gets four riding modes: Race, Sport, Road and Wet.

The bike also gets a six-axis IMU, enabling features like Ducati Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and Cornering ABS. The V2 SP additionally gets launch control and a pit limiter as standard. These features are available as accessories on the standard V2.

BikeDekho Says

The updated Ducati Hypermotard is sharper, lighter and more powerful than before. It sits in a segment of its own as a V2 supermoto, while the SP variant takes things up a notch with Ohlins suspension and track-specific electronics, making it an exotic but unique motorcycling experience.

Being a supermoto, it can be quite a fun motorcycle to ride but with an 880mm tall seat, it can take a while to get accustomed. The trade off here is that you get a higher ground clearance than the Panigale V2 or the Streetfighter V2, with comparable performance, and a lower price tag. That makes the Hypermotard V2 a more practical choice for Indian road conditions, and easier to live with everyday. If that catches your fancy, bookings for both motorcycles are now open at Ducati dealerships across India.
