Honda has taken the wraps off the extensively updated 2027 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade at EICMA 2026. The litre-class supersport gets significant changes to its engine, chassis and aerodynamics, with nearly 75% (according to the brand) of its components being new. These updates are aimed at making it a much more capable track-focused motorcycle than the previous iteration.
Revised Engine And Chassis
Power continues to come from the 999 cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine. However, Honda has introduced a two-stage variable-length intake system, a first for a series-production model from the brand. This setup is intended to deliver stronger performance at lower and mid-range revs while retaining its top-end power. The ride-by-wire throttle and engine braking characteristics have also been fine-tuned. The motorcycle now features a redesigned aluminium twin-tube frame with 20 per cent less lateral rigidity, while its torsional stiffness remains unchanged.
Variants On Offer
The 2027 Fireblade lineup will be offered in three variants: Standard CBR1000RR-R, Fireblade SP and new Fireblade HRC Works Edition. While the SP gets electronically adjustable suspension, the HRC Works Edition has been developed as a homologation special for the FIM World Superbike Championship (WSBK).
The New HRC Works Edition Special
The range-topping HRC Works Edition gets carbon-fibre-reinforced front winglets and a dedicated aerodynamic package. It also features adjustable Ohlins suspension and Brembo Hypure brakes. Built specifically for solo riding, it can also be fitted with an optional HRC racing kit.
