Upcoming Ather EL01 Affordable Electric Scooter Spotted Testing For The First Time

    Quick News Highlights:

    • The scooter looks almost production-ready

    • Despite the heavy camo, the test mule looks the same as the EL01 concept

    • It is expected to launch in June 2026

Ather Energy seems to be getting closer to introducing its most budget-friendly electric scooter yet. A test mule based on the brand’s upcoming EL platform has been spotted on public roads, hinting that development is in its final stages. We expect the scooter to debut around June 2026, likely positioned as the most accessible Ather offering with an estimated price of Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom).

    Concept-Like Look Continues

Despite being wrapped in heavy camouflage, the test scooter’s overall design looks very similar to the EL01 concept showcased at Community Day 2025. The test mule appears to match closely with the design patent filed earlier, indicating that the production model will carry forward most of the concept’s visual elements.

    Likely To Stay Tech-Heavy

The Ather EL01 concept came equipped with a large 7-inch TFT display, and given Ather’s strong focus on tech, the production version is expected to retain a lot of features from the Ather scooters which are currently on sale. But, since the test mule doesn’t reveal the rider’s view clearly, the exact instrument console details are still under wraps.

    Expected Price And Rivals

Once launched, this new EL platform-based scooter will likely be the most affordable product in Ather’s lineup, with an expected price of around Rs 99,000. It will take on upcoming and existing budget-friendly electric scooters like the TVS Orbiter, Hero Vida VX2, and the Bajaj Chetak C2501.
