Upcoming Triumph Bonneville 400 Spied In India: CLEAREST PIC YET!

The upcoming Triumph Bonneville 400 has been spotted in India, and it appears almost production-ready. The latest spy shots reveal a motorcycle that stays true to Triumph’s timeless design philosophy, while also hinting at a few fresh elements that set it apart from the brand’s current small-capacity lineup. One of the most striking highlights is the classy gloss black paint scheme. It looks minimalistic yet premium, giving the bike a clean and elegant stance. Unlike flashy modern designs, this one leans heavily towards what Triumph’s bigger Bonneville series is actually known for.

The overall styling clearly draws inspiration from larger Bonneville models like the Triumph Bonneville T100.  Also, this bike will carry an all-new frame, with a telescopic fork, and twin rear shock abosrbers. Other than this, details such as the chrome-finished engine casing, handlebar, and rear grab rail instantly stand out. Adding to the retro charm is the peashooter-style exhaust, which is a signature Bonneville design element. These touches give the bike an authentic old-school appeal rather than just a modern reinterpretation. Further enhancing its classic identity are key design cues like the teardrop-shaped fuel tank with an offset fuel-filler cap, a new single-piece seat, a round headlight, round indicators and spoked wheels. The wheels are expected to come with tube-type tyres, which aligns with the bike’s retro positioning, even though it may slightly compromise convenience. 

Another interesting detail that the spy shots reveal is what looks like a TFT instrument console. It looks different from the unit seen on existing 350cc Triumph motorcycles, suggesting that the Bonneville 350 could get a more distinctive console, possibly with added functionality while retaining a classic layout. Even the switchgear, for that matter, looks to be different and is a four way unit to navigate through the console. Triumph recently launched its updated 400 lineup with a downsized 350cc engine in India, and the upcoming Bonneville is also expected to use the same engine, most probably with the same tune as the Triumph Speed T4, which after the downsizing produces 29PS and 31Nm.

Overall the bike does look quite appealing, and also gets most of the elements which buyers look for in a bike in this segment. Triumph is likely to launch this bike in India by June 2026, with an expected price of around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it a strong contender in the retro motorcycle space. Once launched, the Bonneville 400 will enter a highly competitive segment. It is expected to rival popular retro motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, and the Jawa 350.
