Could launch this festive season
The production-ready version of the Hero Karizma XMR 250 has been spotted at a dealership again, this time in a sporty new red shade. Here's a closer look:
New Shade
The new red shade looks similar to the Turbo Red colour scheme found on its smaller sibling, the Karizma XMR 210, however, with subtle changes to differentiate between the two.
It gets a red base paint on the tank, side panels, and tail section, along with white highlights on the side panels with XMR branding. The front fender is also finished in white, and the bike gets a golden-coloured inverted fork. The XMR 250 gets a larger windscreen compared to the XMR 210, and it also gets winglets mounted on its front fairing, which give it a sporty look.
The bike was earlier spotted in a black shade, and we have also seen a white-and-red colour scheme that was showcased at EICMA 2024. The new red colour will be the third addition to the XMR 250 range and is the sportiest-looking option of them all.

The Karizma XMR 250 will be powered by a 250cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine similar to that found on the recently updated Xtreme 250R, making 30.2 PS and 25.3 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and will most likely get a bidirectional quickshifter.
In terms of hardware, the bike gets the same trellis frame as its naked sibling, along with an inverted fork and a monoshock. It rides on 17-inch wheels along with disc brakes at both ends.
Like the updated Xtreme 250R, we could also see frequency-selective damping (FSD) on the monoshock.

In terms of features, the Hero bike should be equipped with a 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts. It will most likely get all the new features available on the Xtreme 250R, like an electronic throttle body, ride modes, traction control, and cruise control, which would give it a major tech boost.
BikeDekho Says
The Hero Karizma XMR 250 will be Hero's second attempt at the small-displacement sportbike segment. The XMR 210, while being a solid product, lacked the commercial success Hero had hoped for, and with the XMR 250, the brand plans to change that with a bigger engine, more features, and premium hardware.
The Karizma XMR 250 will inherit most of the new features that we have seen on the updated Xtreme 250R, including ride modes and cruise control, which would make it one of the most tech-loaded bikes in its segment.
The bike could be launched this festive season and is expected to be priced at around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). The Karizma XMR 250 doesn’t have any natural rivals as such, but will be priced similarly to the Yamaha R2 and the KTM RC200.
