TVS has launched the Ntorq 150 in India. TVS’ most powerful scooter is offered in two variants: 

Both the variants get the same engine, but the main highlight is the ton of features that they get. 

Features

The  base variant of the TVS Ntorq 150 comes with a hybrid LCD + TFT display, with smartphone connectivity for features such as call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. This variant also offers bits like ride stats and music control, and even the option to accept/reject calls.

The TFT variant has a full TFT display which offers a lot of the same features. This variant also comes with a 4-button controller on the left-hand side switchgear to navigate the console. This variant also gets OTA service updates as well, which really elevates the premium quotient.

Lastly, keeping the performance-oriented scooter theme in mind, TVS has also offered bits like a top-speed recorder. We think this is a near addition, and one which many riders will appreciate. That said, we don’t recommend riding above the speed limits to try and set new speed records on busy roads.

The underseat storage capacity is 22 litres, which is decent and can accommodate a half-face helmet. The scooter also has an apron glove compartment with a 2 litre storage capacity.

Engine, Power And Performance

Powering the Ntorq 150 is a new 149.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 13.2PS at 7,000rpm and 14.2Nm at 5,500rpm. TVS claims that the engine will offer a top speed of 104kmph and a 0-60kmph acceleration time of 6.3 seconds. Compared to the Ntorq 125, this is a bump of 3.01PS and 3.3Nm. The scooter is also offered with two riding modes: Street and Race. All of which should make the Ntorq 150 a fun to ride, during your everyday commutes as well as on weekend outings.

Design

The new TVS Ntorq 150 shares a lot of design bits in common with the Ntorq 125. But the Ntorq 150 takes it a step further, and turns the aggression up a notch. The sharp-looking front, the new dual-projector LED headlights, along with the fang-like turn-indicators, all look really cool. The body panels also have a chunkier look, and make it clear that this is the Ntorq 125’s bigger brother. 

Underpinnings

The Ntorq 150 features a telescopic fork and a single-sided shock absorber. The scooter rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends with tubeless tyres. The braking setup consists of a 220mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. Both variants of the scooter feature single-channel ABS. The scooter has an accessible seat height of 770mm. The ground clearance comes to 155mm. The kerb weight is 115kg, and the scooter has a fuel tank capacity of 5.8 litres.

The TVS Ntorq 125 has been one of the most popular 125cc sporty scooters in India. However, with an increasing interest in more powerful scooters, it felt a bit lacking, especially when there have been more powerful options (like the ones mentioned above). The Ntorq 150 builds on everything the Ntorq 125 was good at. This will also help TVS cater to two audience segments: one that is relatively cost-conscious and is okay with slightly lesser performance, and the other one that wants all the performance that they can get, and don’t mind paying a bit extra for that.
