Replaces the Simple Dot One
Bengaluru based startup Simple Energy, has launched the Simple OneS, replacing the Simple Dot One. It has been priced at Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable offering from the brand.
Design
The Simple OneS looks just like the other Simple electric scooter on sale currently: the One. It is offered in a total of four colour options: Brazen Black, Grace White, Azure Blue, and Namma Red.
Performance
The OneS offers a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 181km. The scooter is equipped with an 8.5kW mid-mounted motor and a 3.7kWh fixed battery. It has a claimed top speed of 105kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in a claimed 2.55 seconds in its ‘Sonic’ ride mode.
Features
The scooter has a total of four riding modes: Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. Features include a 7-inch touchscreen instrument console with 5G e-SIM, Bluetooth connectivity, and Wi-Fi. The dashboard offers customizable themes, app integration, turn-by-turn navigation, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Other features include a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), regenerative braking, Park Assist, and ‘rapid’ braking.
Availability
The scooter will be available at 15 Simple Energy showrooms located in Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag, Kochi, and other cities. The company plans to expand its retail network with 150 new stores and 200 service centers across India by the end of March 2026.
BikeDekho Says
With the addition of the Simple OneS, Simple Energy's product portfolio now includes two models. The other being the One Gen 1, which offers a range of 248km. The OneS comes as a replacement of the Dot One, which was priced at Rs 1,46,219 (ex-showroom). Interestingly, the primary specifications of the new OneS and the Dot One (as per the website) are the same. However, the OneS offers better specifications and more features as compared to the Dot One back when it was launched in December 2023. While the Simple OneS seems promising on paper, we will reserve our final verdict once the company starts dispatching the electric scooters to all its touchpoints without any bottleneck. It will rival other sporty electric scooters like the Ather 450S, Ola S1 Pro, and the recently launched Ultraviolette Tesseract.
