BMW Motorrad has launched the G 310 RR Limited Edition at Rs 2,99,000 (ex-showroom). It’s to commemorate the sale of 10,000 units of the BMW G 310 RR since launch. It also comes with a 3-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, with options to extend up to five years. A 24x7 roadside assistance package is also included.
Design
It gets new full body decals, rim stickers, and a ‘1/310’ badge on the fuel tank to signify its exclusivity. Available in Cosmic Black and Polar White – that draw inspiration from the BMW S 1000 RR and limited M version.
Engine
This BMW bike is powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 312.12cc engine. It has 4 ride modes that vary performance and how power is delivered: Track, Sport, Urban, and Rain. In Track and Sport ride modes, it makes 34PS at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm. Meanwhile, in Urban and Rain mode, it makes 25.8PS (-8.2PS) at 7,700rpm and 25Nm (-2.3Nm) at 6,700rpm. It’s paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. It gets a Ram Air intake for additional engine cooling, and side vents that throw engine heat away from the rider.
Underpinnings
It’s based on the same platform as the TVS Apache RTR 310 and RR 310. So, it gets a tubular steel frame, aluminum swingarm, gold colour 41mm inverted fork (140mm wheel travel), pre-load adjustable monoshock (119mm travel). And, ByBre brakes: 300mm front disc with a 4-piston, radially mounted caliper and a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. It has 17-inch cast aluminum wheels at both ends with Michelin Pilot Street radial tubeless tyres – 110-section front and 150 rear. The kerb weight is 174kg, fuel tank capacity 11 litres, and seat height 811mm.
Features
It has a vertical 5-inch TFT console shared with the TVS Apache RR 310 which gets Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, phone alerts, and music controls. Other features include all-LED lights, dual-channel ABS, and rear wheel lift off control.

The Limited Edition only comes with new colour schemes, whereas the mechanicals and features are all unchanged. While the standard BMW G 310 RR got cheaper at Rs 2.81 lakh, the extra Rs 18,000 feels a bit too much for what at the end of the day is a fancier-looking G 310 RR with no upgrades. If you’re in the market for a faired bike with tons of features and an equally cool-looking colour scheme, then you can simply go for the TVS Apache RR 310 with the BTO kit that adds fully adjustable suspension and more, with the Sepang Blue colour (optional extra). TVS also has the benefit of a larger dealer network, lower spares and service costs.
