With presenting some pleasant numbers on the sales charts in just a few months, the Pune-based manufacturer has officially announced to increase the production of its latest sportbike, Pulsar RS 200 by more than double. Currently, the sales of this machine stand at around 1,700 units per month and the manufacturer will be boosting up its production to 4,000 units in the coming two months at their Chakan plant located near Pune in Maharashtra.

Revealing this, Mr. Eric Vyas, President, Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto Limited stated, “The market response to RS200 has been really good. Currently, the bike is available in 56 cities but we have not been able to expand beyond because of capacity constraints. We are gradually ramping up production from 1,700 units a month now to about 4,000 units per month by August.” He also conveyed that Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 along with the robust KTM motorcycles will help majorly in enhancing their position in the sports motorcycle segment that falls in the price range of Rs. 1 lac to Rs. 2 lacs. The company sold 614 units in the financial year 2013, which has been sloped up impressively to a whopping 4,034 units during April-May in the current fiscal year, showing an ever increasing sales.

He further said, “As of May, we have a market share of 56 percent compared with just 13 percent in FY13. Our aim is to double the overall size of this particular segment from the current 7,150 units a month.”

Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 is undoubtedly one of the most impressive products in the company’s portfolio and has been titled as the “Fastest Pulsar yet.” Besides a powerful 199.5cc fuel injected engine that cranks out 24.2bhp of power and 18.6Nm of torque, the bike gets a bunch of interesting features such as an optional Bosch 9MP ABS, Nitrox mono shock and stylish daytime running lights.
