Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: Old vs New Differences Explained
The 2025 update brings meaningful upgrades to Bajaj’s most powerful Pulsar at a modest price bump
The 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has been launched in India at Rs 1,92,328 (ex-showroom) - a price increase of Rs 11,010 over the previous model (compared to the price on the website on May 21, 2025). The updated NS400Z packs serious upgrades in performance, handling, and features - all the while retaining its value-for-money appeal. Here’s a closer look at what’s new:
Power Increase
The 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z continues to use the same 373.3cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It now makes 43PS - which is 3PS more than before, but the torque remains the same at 35Nm.
Reworked Internals & Radiator Cowl
The power increase in the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has been made possible by reworking the engine’s internals to handle the added stress and improve heat management. The design of the radiator cowl has also been revised to direct heat away from the rider’s legs, making it more comfortable in hot weather or stop-and-go traffic.
Performance Boost
The increase in power and reworked engine internals have resulted in quite a big bump in performance, and the new bike is much faster than the older one. Here’s a table comparing the claimed figures:

Quickshifter
A major feature addition for the 2025 Pulsar NS400Z is the inclusion of a bidirectional quickshifter built in collaboration with Bosch. This allows the rider to shift gears up and down without using the clutch, improving the riding experience, especially during aggressive riding. This feature was not available on the previous version, and is a first for any Bajaj bike.
Tyres and Braking
To handle the improved performance, Bajaj has equipped the 2025 NS400Z with Apollo Alpha H1 radial tubeless tyres: 110-section front and 150-section rear. Radials offer better sidewall flexibility, so when you lean into a corner the tyre grip is better, inspiring more confidence. Another welcome change is the addition of sintered brake pads at the front, replacing the older organic ones. This should result in improved braking performance and longer pad life.
What’s Unchanged?
The NS400Z continues to be built on a perimeter frame, 43mm inverted fork, and a monoshock. It still has a 320mm front and 230mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS. It continues with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, 17-inch alloy wheels, 174kg kerb weight, 807mm seat height, 168mm ground clearance, and 12-litre fuel tank.
It remains the same features wise too - with all LED lighting (with projector headlight), same LCD console, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, music control, backlit switchgear, traction control, and 4 ride modes: Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road.
BikeDekho Says
At Rs 1,92,328 (ex-showroom), the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z continues to be the most affordable 40+PS bike in India, and now comes with even more performance and features. With the aforementioned features, no other bike comes even close to the Pulsar NS400Z in the sub-2 lakh-rupee bracket.
In fact, many bikes that are priced even further up don’t have as much features and/or power as the NS400Z. Bajaj has done an excellent job in equipping the bike with just the right updates, that too keeping the price in check. On paper, the NS400Z remains one of the most value-packed performance motorcycles you can buy today.
Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z (2025) User Reviews
I chose this bike because mujhe iska look aur performance dono pasand hai. Yeh bike powerful hai, road par stable rehti hai aur daily use ke liye bhi achhi hai. Isliye mujhe yeh bike best lagi. Iska look Achha Laga hamko isliye ham liye. Ride abhi tak kaafi achhi rahi hai. Main is bike ko lagbhag 395 km chala chuka hoon aur abhi tak koi problem nahi aayi. Bike smooth chalti hai, power bhi achhi feel hoti hai aur handling bhi stable lagti hai. Overall ride comfortable hai aur chalane me kaafi maza aa raha hai. Agar aap student ho toh aapko ye bike chalate samye rocket jesa feel hoga. Ham toh yahi bolna chahege ki ye bike sabhi ke liye sahi ho, mileage thoda kam daily use ke hishab se but 400 cc ki bhi toh hai apko kuch toh compromise karna hoga. Baki ka sab badiya hai.Read More

It is unbeatable value for money bike. loaded with modern tech and riding modes, I love the race mode and also quick shift very smooth USD suspension, best in the segment, best naked sport bike in this price. Positive seat comfortable and USD suspension was good in this segment, the bike colour is very glossy and height is good. Negative it produce heat on highways ride for long time every 120 km, you just stop for 10 minutes. Yes, if you want thrill and love the speed then go for it. 400cc engine produce 40bhp the power is mind blowing in this segment. Performance is very good for that price range and looks is also stunning Bajaj service network is good and part accessibility is phenomenal and also the handling is quite good with the relaxed riding posture The ride quality is good but I don't like the the suspension that much because it is little bit stiff ant not that good for bumpy roads but everything is good specially the engine performance I hit 182 kmph top on a closed road I would highly recommend this bike to anyone who is looking for a performance or high cc bike in a budget but the maintenance cost is high because it is overall a 400cc bike and need care and average service costs upto 2200 to 3000 rsRead More
