Bajaj highlights the need for social distancing in its new commercial. But wait, there’s a new colour incoming too

Bajaj Auto has released a new TV commercial highlighting the importance of social distancing by performing stunts while maintaining the 6-feet social distancing rule at all times. But more importantly, the brand has used this ad to tease the arrival of a new colour variant of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200: a red and white dual-tone paint scheme. It even gets a colour-coded frame and wheels, a first for the Pulsar NS 200. It also features stickering on the engine cowl for an added sporty appeal.

A closer look at the teaser reveals a single-piece pillion grab rail and one of the bikes packing a four-piston caliper at the rear. Obviously, these changes were made to execute the stunts we see in the TVC. So expect the production version to retain the split grab rails and a simple single-piston rear caliper.

Other than the new colour scheme, the bike is expected to retain the same mechanicals as the standard version. The motorcycle uses a 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which churns out 24.5PS at 9750rpm and 18.5Nm at 8000rpm. This fuel-injected BS6-compliant powerplant works in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission. There are no new tangible features in the BS6-compliant version other than the fuel injection system. It even retains the same single-channel ABS as before.

Expect Bajaj to offer this new colour variant in a few weeks. This will be the sportiest-looking colour option compared to the already-existing Graphite Black, Mirage White, Fiery Yellow and Wild Red. Judging by the dual-tone scheme, it could command a slight premium over the other colour variants, which are all priced at Rs 1,29,722 (ex-showroom Delhi).
