With amazing features and aggressive pricing, Bajaj Dominar 400 is going to give lots of sleepless nights to its rivals.

Bajaj has finally launched its much-awaited 400cc motorcycle, the Dominar 400 and its pricing is probably the biggest surprise of the Indian Auto Industry for 2016. While the bike was expected to enter the market with a price tag of around Rs 1.7 lakh, the company managed to introduce it with a starting price of just Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Even the ABS equipped, flagship variant of the bike comes at Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Talking about the bike, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is based on a beam-type perimeter frame and is powered by a new 373.3cc, single-cylinder engine. Designed for a torquey low range, the new 4-valve motor gets liquid-cooling and triple-spark technology as well. Mated to a six-speed transmission, the fuel injected mill produces 35PS of power at 8,000rpm and 35Nm of torque at just 6,500rpm. Weighing 182kg (kerb), the bike claims a top speed of 148kmph and sprints to 100kmph from a standstill in just 8.23 seconds.

The Bajaj Dominar is also capable of operating at an altitude of up to 18,380 feet above sea level and the company says that it can climb a 45-degree gradient even in the second gear. Coming to the highlights of the Bajaj Dominar 400, the bike gets interesting features like the full-LED headlamp with multi-beam design, muscularly sculpted fuel tank, fully-digital instrument cluster in two steps, large disc brakes, meaty tyres, beefy front forks, dual-channel ABS (optional), slipper clutch and much more.

Bajaj is promoting the Dominar 400 as a night dominator in its TVC that says, "Only babies sleep at night." But now it is definitely about to give lots of sleepless nights to the design team of its rival, the Mahindra Mojo. It would be interesting to see how Mahindra takes this challenge forward. Till then, let's enjoy some detailed pictures of the Bajaj Dominar 400 in the image gallery below.
