The upcoming scooter could have better performance and new features

Ather will launch the 450X, a more feature-rich and performance-oriented variant of the standard 450, in India tomorrow. A few days back, Ather had shared a teaser video hinting at what we can expect from the new 450X. 

While the base Ather 450 offers a range of 75km in Eco mode and has a top speed of 55kmph, we expect the new Ather 450X to get a boost in range and top speed. Although Ather hasn’t revealed the final specs yet, we also believe the electric two-wheeler maker might equip the upcoming 450X with a denser battery setup (albeit of the same size) and a tuned motor. For perspective, the standard model is powered by a 5.4kW motor and has a 2.4kWh battery. 

Apart from these changes, Ather might tweak the design of the scooter as well by adding some new colour schemes. There are rumours that the Bengaluru-based startup could throw in some more features in the 450X over the standard model. The current model is equipped with every feature that we can think of including a reverse mode, ride modes and a full colour TFT display. So what will Ather bring next to the table? Well, we have to wait a bit to find out. 

Ather is also aggressively planning on expanding its footprint in the country, aiming to add eight cities to its list in 2020. Cities like Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Coimbatore, are first in the list, followed by Kochi, Coimbatore, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad.
